It's a Persistent Browser Based MMO. It has some strategy elements, some tactical elements, and some RPG elements. I found it while hunting for an online chess game site. The setting is along futuristic lines. You start in your own private corner of the universe and colonize a few planets, and gather some resources. Once you feel confident in your ability to face others, you can use a "Wormhole" to take your fleets of ships out into the "Hotz Zone" and begin trying to conquer the universe. It takes "Orions" (their version of credits) to create an alliance, but it seems worth the one time expenditure. There are numerous quests that can earn these "Orions" for those that can't afford to buy them outright. I will admit that getting your first planet going and your first fleet built is a slow process, but it's been a relaxing game so far. From what I have been able to find out, the battles run along lines similar to a chess game. Each unit has its own set of rules governing combat movement and how it attacks, but the gathering of resources, conquering of undefended planets, and general movement of ships is fairly freeform. If there are already Chikens in the game, please let me know so I can join the right alliance. If there aren't, I'll be asking the council for permission to add the Confederation to the roll of alliances as soon as I can get the "Orions" to do it. If anyone decides to give it a try, the link at the top gives me free stuff for referals. lol Up to you if you want to use it, or if you'd rather not. Still playing it. So far it's easier to deal with having a real life an playing this than it was in Mech Hero.
