TWOTB in MW:LL

The Way of the BAWK is up and running in MW:LL! This is running on the same hardware that our MW4 matches are played on. The MWLL server seems to behave better than MW4. I'm hoping to have a better line on a permanent place for the new server, but I just haven't found one in Seattle yet that I like.

I'll update this post as necessary.

IP: 65.23.153.58 (mech.shylan.org)
Port: default game port
Players: 16
CPU: Celeron 2.8
Memory: 1GB

Most of the above information will change when I get the new hardware up and running. The DNS address (mech.shylan.org) won't change unless I decide to change it to mwll.shylan.org or something.

The server will always be called "The Way of the BAWK" even if the hardware changes. People know my server by name, so changing the name is a tad silly. I know some people like to change the names of their servers if they get an upgrade, but in this case, the name is everything.

really need to start playing with other chikens now had some good games in opens but the most succesful players are the ones winging with team mates

i spend a lot of time as an elemental with a manpack PPC then once i have enough cbills i go for a scat then the fun begins

the scat is awesome fast manoverable and packed with a guass and lasers just like it should be :D

game is pretty amazing, control is going to take some serious getting used to. Hope they are able to sort out the custom keyboard config options. Not being able to set max throttle and no throttle with a single key stroke is annoying.

Any news on whether they will be working a 3rd person view into it?

The 'K' key switches from variable throttle to 100% on press

there is no 3rd person on the way.. its a sin to even suggest it on their boards

Been reading various forums about joystick mapping (I have a dual stick Top Gun Afterburner). Not a lot of fun and the binary treatment of the throttle makes my analog slider useless. Hopefully we'll see improvements over time.

I've had quite a few crashes today, but was able to play for about 4 hours straight (I'm on vacation) last night.

Without the stick working, I'm more comfortable with the battle armor and various tracked vehicles. A few of the variants are pretty cool.

Hopefully I'll get all the mappings worked out and can finally fly and go Meching soon.

I've tried both DX9 and DX10 and it doesn't seem to matter regarding crashes. Maybe I need an upgrade? hehe...

i have succeeding in getting my old thrustmaster joystick working on MWLL just need to fine tune it now
the throttle is the probelm so still have to use the keyboard for speed

my X52 i can get throttle, twist and up/down (Y axis) to work but for some reason the rudder/turn (x axis) can not be recognised
i will still play around with the script to see what if i can find a way

No 3rd person is a little frustrating, but it'll just be something to get used to I suppose.

A lot of client crashes ( relaunch of game ) last night and then finally a very heavy graphics crash, locked the whole machine and needed buttoning. I've had that before with Crysis though.

Oh one other thing... I wasnt scoring hits in one session ( no credit increase with on target hit ) but closing the client and relaunching seemed to fix it.

That may cinch it for alot of pilots. Maybe BMH will suport 3rd person view. (were did that disk go)

i have been watching BMH for quite a while and its annoying that they have not released any real info about the mod so to me its total vaporware

Plus its based on Northern Strike which i dont own anyway

btw i was surounded by 4 other mechs and died 5 seconds later but our team was out numbered thoughout and we lost at the end but it was a classic game

They fixed a lot of the issues they were having before smutty, or maybe I upgraded my computer since last I played, either way it looks amazing now and i'm having bare minimal lag, and only on the rotating asteroid maps.
