First time i tried MW:LL.. crashed my Owens mech straight into the hanger wall and got legged by 2 elementals.. so jumped out and killed one in my Longinus power suit

realli good fun but default controls feel clumsy and need to fine tune to how i need them and at the moment i find it virtually impossible to hit an elemental with my mech weapons .. but that will change :)

might be better when i get my joystick working with it

on a plus side the graphics are awesome.. (well it is Crysis lol )

Yeah controls feel a bit sluggish.

Well this for me is by no means just jump in and play

i find that it is a steep learning curve

So far i have failed to get my joystick to work and the default controls are a bit of pain at times

W is forward and tapping that gives u 100% speed and on a light mech that really can get u into trouble
S is reverse and again its 100% speed
X is stop

so to control your mech speed its a juggling act with these 3 keys the numeric keypad 0-9 is set for 10% 20% 30% etc speed on each number but i find that impossibe to use in conjuction with the other controls which are all on the left hand side on the k/b

since the game is first person only it is also disorienating when you torso twist to centre your legs to torso agin but once you get used to the radar there is a mark on there to show your alignment. At the moment the game is plagued with sudden kicks from server and game crashes which are annoying but this still a first beta so these things have to be expected

The biggest mech ive worked upto so far is a catapult but my favourite is definately is the Scat the guass and laser variant really is kick ass :D

tbh this isnt going to replace mercs for competitive gaming for a while yet as they still have a long way to go with this mod but it really is one hell of a lot of bawking fun :D

Looks nice...

Had a chance to mess with the mechlab?

That... and it looks like they made yet another FPS mechwarrior... ah, well. One can hope for a real sim, one day. :applaus

there is no mechlab yet as this just the first release of the beta

currently u have 4 varients of each mech to choose from which are actually good load outs and cover most situations

i expect the dev team are busy sifting through all the comments on their boards and looking to fix the bugs that are emerging

all in all for a first release it is very playable and a lot of fun

the biggest gripe is lack of proper joystick support and driving a mech takes a lot of concentration but then who said that piloting a mech should be easy lol

:D

Well if it takes alot to pilot the mech how will you fight? I may want to be in a fighter lplane lol.

well piloting a mech is all down to practice its no where as easy as it is MW4

but its a lot of fun just running around as an elemental

blowing up light mechs and armour :D

The topic of the thread, should be the title of a new forum, lol.

I installed crysis, then I D/L'd the game, then after a few unsuccessful attepts at opening proved to me that I needed software to open the software, I aquired a trial version of Winrar. This successfully extracted all the gobblbeegook from the files and I finally got it installed.
However, when I start the game it faults and throws a warning that says: Unable to find Crysis.exe in your game's bin32 folder. unables to launch.
Was I supposed to install those folders durectly into the Crysis folder?

make sure that u are patched up to crysis 1.21 then follow these instructionsOnce this is downloaded extract into the crysis folder so it looks like this (c:/programs files/electronic arts/crytek/crysis/mods/mwll

then...

THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT!

In order to get yourself up to date with the latest key commands to access all the functionality you want, you will have to grab them from the latest XML file provided in the MWLL BETA v.1.0 archive entitled.

1) Beta Testers - after installation, copy the file "example_actionmaps_for_joystick.xml" (EVEN IF YOU DONT USE JOYSTICK)

2) Paste this file to your Crysis profile found in - My Documents\My Games\Crysis\Profiles

3) You will have to paste to both profiles (if you have another one besides the default Crysis)

ensure you do this in both the default and YOUR PROFILE directory
My Documents\My Games\Crysis\Profiles\default\actionmaps.xml
My Documents\My Games\Crysis\Profiles\Criminal\actionmaps.xml

4) Finally delete your old "actionmaps.xml" and rename the copied "example_actionmaps_for_joystick.xml" to "actionmaps.xml"

OK games up, it's a little choppy, so I'm lookin fer a high?low setting fer the visuals but haven't fond it yet. Also, on the map I was playin it was real hard to see as clearly as I do in mech, is there a gamma setting?

all graphics settings are in :options > system settings> then the advanced tab

you will see a gamma and brightness settings in there as well
