MWLL OK WHAT NEXT?

Now that I've played the canned version I decided to play on-line for a while. The first thing I noticed was that there are different versions out there. My thinking is that we already have one update installed and the others are the original game...true?
Next I try to join the way of the fawking bawk and it won't let me join the server, (it's working about the same as it did in Mechwarrior I see). It says that it's kicking me out. Can someone open the door a little wider so I can get in?

The I try to join another server and it says I don't have the map. After doing a search for Crysis Maps I come up with a website that seems to have it all, YAY. However when I download the maps they are in RAR form, (that's not rare form) which is something I don't have. So, back to searching the web again.
Actually this time I just told the puter to go find it and low and behold it did. However there seems to be a multitude of versions and some are free while others are trial types while others I would have to purchase....what a drag. Being unemployed again means I can't purchase anything for a while so is there another way to get the files I need. Maybe from another site in a more familiar format or is there a version of RAR that will do what I need without added expense.

Also there seems to be some type of comms in the on-line game but I don't know how to use them.

And of course the fact that there is a bunch of STUFF going on out there that isn't put into the flimsy little book I got. So let me just ask, is there any answers that can be given to questions I haven't figured out to ask yet, lol

In other words..............um......................HELP!

It might even be nice to get together an play and practice together like a real live clan so I won't look so bad when I'm out there.

It would be great to set up a date like after a match on Friday or something....yes....maybe?

That is the one I use....its what it is..a trial but it will get ya there for the moment.

I have not bought crysis yet.....I got to be serious......I was so disappointed with a couple of games that I am hesitant to shell out schekles until I have some feedback.

HW2=left me wanting bigtime
NetMech was a bust for me
Company of Heros was so damned boring I played the sp and shelved it
BF2=couldn't get into and there were soooooooooo many hacks I became disillusioned.
BF2142=still disillusioned but I have learned to cope, because I have nothing else that even remotely interests me at the moment.
WoW I plan do not get the appeal. Played all the previous versions of it and just can not get into it.
EvE=never played because I hate to pay money to get software and then find only that I have to pay again monthly to play it.

I work too damn hard for my money these days and I don't have any disposable income to waste on this unless its going to be a very good reason. Its way to hard to sell it to Michelle to go on a limb when none of my mates are there to play with.

Get a PS3 and rent the games before you buy them. Plus it limits the thoughts of hacker, althought its possible (i have not seen or heard of it). I play Battlefield BadCompany and I love it.

Crysis in the canned version is just awsome. Playing straight off the disk it's limits are what you are able to put into the keyboard. I've never seen a game be so intersctive before. If your walking past a treet and you shot it. It will fall mabe on another tree and knock it down to. Or ANY other item in the scenario. That's a new treat for me. Remeber the Deer in mechwarrior......
The on-line version of it is rough though. Played for a few hours today. You have to have your major weopons built and I'm not sure how to do it yet but I'm getting there.
Since this is the chassis for MWLL I consider it a good buy. The on-line will take a lot of getting used to though.

You think YOU had problems? Ask anyone how my servers ABSOLUTELY LOVE to kick and ban me. It took me a couple hours to get my server configuration right and to get my game to a place where I could join for more than 2 seconds.

Got tired of waiting for MWLL so I bought Fallout 3.

Great game and story line, but the constant CDT's are annoying as hell. I suspect this is another one of those console games that was ported to PC.

Other than the CDT's, the game is quite entertaining, especially when you shoot someone and their head explodes.

Make sure you punkbuster is on. It is not an automatic thing. Its under the options.

It really suprised that most of the servers for Crysis run with anti-cheat off.

Was on Tuesday for a bit, will try to be on tonight for a bit.

Cosmic, if you want a really good FPS story line, try Fear, and Fear 2. Creepy ass games with really smart AI enemies. They will flank you, throw grenades to flush you out, and set up some really good ambushes.....and then there is the creepy little girl that keeps showing up.

I've never played it but a guy I know said Crysis is like FarCry.

What I've discovered about Crysis online is some servers preload weapons/vehicles and some don't. If they don't the more kills you make the more money/points you get to buy bigger weapons and/or vehicles. I like the ground vehicles, tanks and the like because I haven't figured out the flying vehicles yet. I crash or get blown out of the sky without a parachute. How do you use a parachute anyway? I found I like the TIAction servers better than the Stronghold or Instant Action ones, friendly fire OFF if I can find one. I joined a few of the friendly fire on servers where a team mate deliberatley started killing my team mates and that's just wrong. Friendly fire is one thing but waiting for a team mate to spawn to kill him/her is wrong. Just like team killing in MW is wrong.

On another note I should have my new Crysis monster PC up and running in a couple of weeks. :headbang

There are a bunch of people with "Invalid CD keys" that have tried to connect to the server and a bunch who didn't have PunkBuster enabled. I looked at the IP's and didn't see one that was similar to yours.

Here is an EA answer to the invalid CD key issue:

There is a way to re-enter your CD key if you upgraded from the Beta like me.

Another thought would be to open a VNC window to TWOTB before you connect (the Crysis server window should be open) and see what error it spits out.

I REALLY need to trim down what the server keeps track of, the log files are getting multi-megabyte large in less than a week!

also I got a shop bought copy not an upgrade of crysis beta

when i tried the other day i was getting kicked before i even got in, tonite i managed to enter the server for about 2 seconds before i was kicked....

Ok. I figured it out, port is 64087. Funny thing is I see the server in my list now, but when I try to connect it errors out with "Connection failed. PunkBuster doesn't support 64bit. Reconnect with 32bit client." Oh well, I guess I'll be waiting for 64bit PunkBuster on TWOTB. ;-(

Clank i am running vista 64 but i play crysis in 32bit DX9 mode

Make a new shortcut to the bin32 folder and put the -dx9 switch in the target

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\Crytek\Crysis\Bin32\Crysis.exe" -dx9

U will have no problems with punkbuster and higher framerates over DX10

TWOTB is kicking me on connection, its not giving me a reason other than "you fail you are kicked haha in your face goodbye", anyone figured a way around this?

Make sure you have punkbuster turned on. You have to do it in the options.
It is labeled Anti-cheat or something similar.

Yeah, what clepto said. I had the same issue, one of many, until I enabled Punkbuster.

Any chance on a TWOTB Crysis Wars server? Wars has Team Instant Action game play, which is similar to MWBrawler. Crysis has only Instant Action and Power Struggle. Anybody else play Wars?

Any word on MWLL release date? June, July, December ;-(

I'm trying my hand at doing a Linux server install of Crysis Wars. I might give up if the sillyness of the install process gets on my nerves (basically I need to install the game then copy it to my Linux server).
