OutLaw's Desert Combat problem

Outlaw posted this in "General Game Talk." I thought it should be here for replies.

i installed the desert combat mod, and when i go to start the game it starts to load the map then crashes to desktop.
any help would be appriciated,

doesnt give me errors or anything just crashes to normal desktop. :computer:

Try dedacated servers and this happends the first 2 times u load a new map on a new server...

no luck. just boots me to desktop

it does fine until about halfway through the map load then *poof* no game no irritating windows "error" noise. i want to play bad. maybe a bad dowload. von doom where'dya get the one you have if you have it??

I updated it from the 0,5 to the 0,6. I d-loaded it from fileplanet..
I sometimes have the same problem but only when i update DC with patches for newer versions... try to logon to servers that have El Alamain and other "clasic" maps...

There are one or two patches for the original game, and the .5 to .6 DC patch.

Have you updated everything?

To use DC .6 (.5 too I think), your BF1942 needs to be patched to v1.5. I've never had the game crash as you've experienced, but I have had non-existant textures when trying to run a dedicated server (all the vehicles were dark grey, and if you zoomed your weapon, your screen went grey too).

It sounds like you may have a bad download, so hopefully the reinstall will help.
