I am coming out of retirement and returning to eve, much like how many prominent music stars retire for good and later come crawling back. Eve is game with many qualities I love that are found nowhere else. Yet it still has its share of problems.

So therefore I ask, how is eve now in terms of the player vs player interaction in low sec space and what not. I am returning largely to rekindle the thirst of small scale combat in which the alliance arena formally drove me out of eve.

What chikens still play eve, and can you share your personal experience and opinions of eve please?

Oh and one thing thats making this so difficult, is I don't have my very original character, so I will be limited to cruisers for awhile, which makes me a sad panda. How is the newbie situation with regards to their use now in pvp?

I don't play anymore, just don't have the time. There are about half a dozen chikens scattered about eve.

Don't know the last time you played, but they have added a whole slew of ships including Battlecruisers.

Crus, Bast, Concrete are likely the ones to contact for questions and what not.

I quit when dreadnoughts and POS killing was first starting to become the central core component of eve alliance warfare. More or less, around the same time evolution originally constructed their first titan.

You mention you don't have the time and thats the underlying reason for you not playing. Is it because eve became too time consuming or did it more so pertain to real life due to not having time to play eve? Call me curious.

I opted for a miner/production guy with mission running on the side. I just don't have time to site for a couple hours a day doing it,especially with my current schedule.

If I had the the time, yea I would probably play, but I really don't.

Well to answer your questions

PvP is pretty much the same and as you expect it.

0.0 is controlled by who can spam the most capships (see BoB vs Coalition, MC rise to power) outside of caps, its usually nano-roaming gangs consisting of mainly HACs and other ships faster then 3300m/s or BS fleets.

Low Sec. Hasn't changed much in terms of PvP. Granted with capships there are bigger kills, though i find its becoming more and more of a haven for PvP'rs who have gotten sick of POS warfare. Again gangs are generally ships that can tank sentries.

High-Sec is high-sec, lots of freighters, guys who sit in perimiter and pop haulers stupid enough to be carrying too much.

Thats a very general picture of how things are. I'm sure chikens in 0.0 and other places would have a better picture for ya. But i say if your gonna rejoin eve. hook up with some experenced players in low sec. Veto are pretty good and i'm sure Fowlplay would vouch for ya. Fear ya need any help in game, evemail BasTid.

Sounds like eve is still in the shitter by your description.... I had hoped CCP would have done something in the three years I was gone other than add dazzling ships...
I want to ask your opinion on this, should I honestly return, will it be worthwhile?

Otherwise: Unfortunately I have hit a snag. I did have an alright player with around 3 million skill points, but I am unable to recall the name of the account he was on. This is the only thing stopping me from reactivating :(. I've tried sending petitions with a trial account and what not, however I have received no responses and its been a couple days.

I am not scared of WOW just don't see the point in paying bucket loads of money every month on top of my internet connection to play in some weird arsed fantasy world on my own ... when I can play with lotsa other Chikens for the price of an internet connection in Mechy ...

Invicta. - Ran by Ex-Contraband Inc.(the ones that made CONINs name) Alot of former RKK and Blackguard Brigade and a few here or there.

Yeah its worth it if you find the right people, my corp suits me perfectly. I would say give it a go and if after another 1-2months its not working then drop again. You have alot of options as, Chikens are spread alot quite abit. RHN, VETO, Chiken Corp. Think Mini is in BRUCE. So i think you can go in at any level of the game you wish.

Yeah as Maddy said, GM's r slow. As i found out when i left BoB, petitions dont get answered in a day (and with a favourable outcome). Also when your create a character to get around 800k-1mil SP anyways so 2mil isnt that big a loss.

RHN is no carebear, we pirated for most of the corps life, but now we're on a conquest, come jion us in stain in killing Stain Empire, buncha russians. But if you want pure low-sec pirating, getting to -10 sec, then Veto will be better.

RHN is 0.0, so i dont think them to be the best option (but probley the easist). I would say VETO or my corp for what we do but they are both very selective and you'll probley get turned down.

Some one had the chiken's join the YMCA alliance, and few have have logged in since. Goni and I still fly some missions, but the alliance wants to go in to 00 space, me and Goni only been at this seven months, not ready for 00 yet.

OK, I got in there and renewed the lease, and got the corp items out of hock.

I THINK I did at least. Put everything back, but it was a mishmash, so do me a favor and go through the stuff and move whatever you think belongs in the Proby Hangar to that slot.

Let me know if the access has changed. It shouldn't have, but you never know. The interface is really wierd. I had to try it 2-3 times before it took.

I think Eve is down until tomorrow night around 10:00 pm EDT while they deploy a new patch.

I have asked the YMCA not to post any emails with fleet information until we can clean up the Chiken corp in Eve, and have asked them to also look closely at the members. Is that not why there is a secure room on the Chiken forum. To keep information secure?
