This was in my e-mail. Posted by a fellow gamer who says I'm a conspearacy theorist, I don't even know how to spell it.
>What is your favorite color: mauve, chartreuse, or beige?
>
>After all, those are the only possible "legitimate" answers to the
>question. Because I said so.
>
>If, two years ago, you asked everyone in the country who they
>wished would be President, if it could be anyone they wanted, how
>many people do you think would say Mike Huckabee? Approximately
>none. Mitt Romney? About zero. Fred Thompson? Pretty much no one.
>Ron Paul? A puny percentage, but probably several thousand at least
>(which wouldn't include me--my choice would be "no one").
>
>So where did those supposed "choices" come from, because--with the
>exception of Ron Paul--it sure as heck wasn't from any sort of
>popular demand. How did those options just magically appear out of
>nowhere? It was, of course, the two factions of the collectivist
>ruling class that told the people who the "choices" would be.
>Basically, the royal family trotted out a few of their power-happy
>offspring, and said we could choose which one would be oppressing
>us for the next few years.
>
>(The fact that the ruling "family" in our country is linked by an
>insider's political club, instead of by blood, only makes it worse.
>After all, it's possible for a king to accidentally have a kid who
>isn't evil, but you won't ever catch a political establishment
>accidentally appointing anyone to a position of power who actually
>likes freedom.)
>
>So a club of collectivist control freaks will let you "choose"
>which one of THEIR approved collectivist control freaks will have
>his jackboot on your neck for the next four years. And we're
>supposed to feel empowered because of that? At this point, the
>Tyrants R Us brigade in DC, and their propagandists in the
>mainstream media, aren't even trying very hard to hide the truth of
>just how "democratic" our insane system has become. (Incidentally,
>democracy itself is a really bad idea, but what we have now is even
>worse.)
>
>Take, for example, the decision by Fox "News" to exclude Ron Paul
>from today's Republican primary presidential debate in New
>Hampshire. The all-knowing Fox "News," in its wisdom, declared Rudy
>Giuliani the leader in the race. In Iowa, Giuliani came in SIXTH,
>at about 3%, while Ron Paul more than TRIPLED that, with just over
>10%. Nonetheless, the Fox News bigwigs, having just demonstrated
>their less-than-stellar powers of prediction, decided that Ron Paul
>is not a "legitimate" candidate, and so he wouldn't be included in
>the debate in New Hampshire.
>
>There are two options here: 1) Fox "News" is unbelievably bad at
>predicting elections, or 2) Fox "News" is not discovering and
>reporting what the people want, but is reporting what Fox "News"
>WANTS the people to want. Either way, letting those morons and/or
>liars decide who should be in the debates is ridiculous. In fact,
>it's so ridiculous that even the New Hampshire Republican party
>removed its sponsorship of today's debate because of the exclusion
>of Ron Paul. (Being the cynic I am, I think the party mainly did
>that, not because of any actual principle, but because it wanted to
>stop the avalanche of angry letters it was getting for being part
>of the political censorship agenda.)
>
>Even on the comments on Fox's web site, most of the anti-Paul
>comments were based entirely on the argument, "He can't possibly
>win." How do people think they can possibly know such a thing?
>Because the wildly inaccurate "polls" tell them so? You mean the
>same polls that said that Giuliani was the frontrunner? And the
>same ones the put Hillary way ahead of the pack in the Democratic
>race? After Ron Paul got THREE TIMES the votes in Iowa that the
>supposed "frontrunner" got, and Hillary came in THIRD, why would
>anyone ever base anything upon the polls ever again?
>
>But what makes Fox "News" win the Orwellian award of the week hands
>down is the fact that it's tightly controlled, substance-avoiding,
>all-collectivist propaganda agenda is presented under the
>ridiculous banner of "You Decide 2008!" Amazing.
>
>Sincerely,
>

>(P.S. Ron Paul did far better in Iowa than polls predicted.
>Tancredo is now dropping out of the race, and endorsing Mitt
>Romney. Please remember my prediction, because this is only the
>start.)

Hmmmm I wonder if people who write stuff like this ever actually study government.
Technically we are a Republic not a democrocy, always have been thanks to electorial votes
Men of wealth and power created our government. Of coarse many of them went bankrupt during the Revolutionary war.
And if I remember correctly voting was initially restricted to landowners. Which means mean of some moderate wealth.
Add in the fact that the Presidential position has less power than it did at our nations conception and can be hobbled even more by a pissed off congress.
The president is just a guy who gets half the praise when things go well, and all the flak when things go to shit.
oh and what the fuck is he doing watching the news. I thought everyone knew by now that they are not unbiased, they are rating whores.

Well I think it funny he mentions 10% for Paul ... that is almost good enough to win the Presidency over there ... after all ... the only democratic right you lot have is whether to vote or not ... after that it is in the bankers and lawyers hands really ...
Considering that Bush Jnr got votes from 17% of the popultaion of the USA (counting the whole population , not just eligible voters) then he got voted in by your legal system ...
I think your legal system sucks ... but that is just my opinion ... fancy letting him loose on your young men and women ... sending them off to war on some bullshit mission of 'war on terror' ... it should read 'anything daddy can phuck up ... I can phuck up better'
stop now ...

Musings of a middle aged mad man:
State of affairs here in the Good 'ole USA has been, and will remain consumer driven domestic bliss. With roughly 20% of the global population, we devour close to 80% of the worlds resources. Glued to our flat screens in some mass hypnosis induced by the advertising and economic spin doctors, we trudge forward down the happy road of capitalism where "profit, at all costs!" is the rule of the day.
By surrendering our identities to the golden calf of prosperity, we await an almost certain "de-Bathification" of sorts, of our civic virtues amidst the erosion of our personal freedoms. We do not hold sacred the life sustaining values of family, career, and "penny saved is a penny earned" consciousness. By in large, we have turned into a spendthrift society, banking on the hype and covetousness of the latest gizmo lifestyle to drive our markets forward, while drowning-out, not only the environmental consequences, but the social ones as well.
During the Global transition to China's burgeoning middle class becoming the new darlings of the global consumer class, (and make no mistake or delude yourself that this is not what's ahead in the next five to ten years), those left to their own devices of eat drink and be merry will bleed the greed out of their "bred and led" populace. Since we have no positive momentum in place as yet for the R&D infrastructure for the move to a Hydrogen Economy (http://www.physicstoday.org/vol-57/iss-12/p39.html), the "Oil War" is not the "Oil War", it's about Mom and Apple Pie (or the Big Mac). Yeah, it's the "Big Mac War". The resulting socio-economic meltdown (in this hemisphere anyway) leads down a one-way cul-de-sac to micro-aggro-economies. Our way of life, presently, is as good as it gets. From here on out...
The Machine keeps whirring, the cogs keep turning, and the windshield is a blurrin'. Full speed down the cul-de-sac!
So elect Ron Paul, write in Warren Buffet, or even Bill Gates. Might as well elect Ronald McDonald for that matter.

Yes and one is a fart and another is a belch. He called me that (conspiracy theorist), in another letter....what, you think I let you read all my mail?
Slackah, are you some kind of economic guru, that's really deep stuff worded entirely to well. Look if you want to talk like the rest of us big words are ok, just misspell them now and then. Crap, I got a headache readin, (see intentional misspelling to the left), your reply.
Well, Moochy and I were both out of employment at about the same time. I'm in the process here of looking fer, (word to the left has been added to my standard dictionary, ((can't believe they left it out)), new employment. This area (mid Ohio) has been in a recession fer about two years now, though some business has been moving back into the area and is due to start up around the latter part of the year.
I'll have figured out a game plan long before then. But, I've got flutes to build till then.
Slackah, without goin long with it, I agree with you. I've seen a few times I'd like to call the good ole days but I believe there will come a day when we call THESE days, the good ole days.

I'm no guru, but thank you for the remark. I just have a thing for at least trying to use proper talkin words and stuff like that there.
But one might seriously consider the Hydrogen Economy. Amazing what gets left in the dust while we're off chasing rainbows.
As far as the good 'ole days goes, here's (http://edition.cnn.com/2007/POLITICS/08/08/gingrich/index.html#cnnSTCVideo) a talk by Newt he gave last August. Provocative stuff for what lies ahead.

I think the US needs a President that 'brings the troops home' or at least one that retreats back to the bases already in place.
I haven't seen any reduction in world violence due to the prescence of US (or any other) troops ...
All Iraq did was to create unnecessary friendly targets elsewhere ... the US should go back to defending it's borders like most other countries do ... at it's border ...
... off box now ...
... damn that box is easy to climb onto ...
Clepto Chiken
01-30-2008, 05:45 PM
Problem is Smutty, everytime the U.S goes back to defending its borders, someone decides to take a popshot at us.
Even scarier is if we ever do pull out all of our troops and bring them home, not only would it likely cause a massive ripple in our already slow economy, it would really fuck up several nations where have people stationed.
The money the U.S pays to have bases in other countries is amazing, plus restoration fees if anything goes wrong.
Friend of mine was in a Chnook when it went down in a South Korean rice field. The U.S had to essential buy that farmers entire crop at premium prices plus outsourced cleanup fees.
Now of coarse I may be bitchy, but have you ever noticed that once the U.S and its troops get started in something, everyone else begins to start trouble because the majority of NATO countries can't muster enough strength to do anything about it.
Then again, I think NATO is just as much a crock of crap as the U.S congress is.
I think we should just buy them all a life subscription to WoW. Let them form all their little legions of goomba's there and battle it out.

Yeah, I tend to agree Clepto. Smacks of isolationism.
But the online duke it out wouldn't be Wow. That would be WoWWW:

I did say bases ...
The question that has to be asked is .. "just when did the world ask the President of the USA to be its minder?"
This is probably the biggest question on the lips of any crazy bastard that lives remotely in contact with the Middle East ...
As you can see that after years of intervention in a crazy place like Iraq, where the desert sun has had generations of impact ... no amount of money or troops will fix it ... this war is far worse than any Vietnam, Afganastan, Somalian or any other conflict that the US Govt has gotten its troops into ... it will never end because the people that the US Govt are trying to change are unchangable ...
After the western world in its wisdom decided to change the boundaries of so many of the middle eastern countries after the first 2 World Wars ... based purely on who phucked who and who sucked who's balls ... the place has never been the same ... they hate each other because their countries were torn apart and given peacemeal to their neighbours ... eg the Kurds .. split between Turkey and Iraq, and hated in both places. ... and I am fairly confident in saying that they hate the US now for their ongoing comittment to phucking them over ... in the name of world peace ... or is that US peace ...
... and the US thinks they are bringing democracy to an area that will never get over its factions ... yeah right ...
Put another way and more simply ... if the US Govt spent as much money, as it does on bringing death and destruction to the rest of the world, on creating new energy technology away from fossil fuels ...
A: it woud be a much more peaceful world because all the terrorist loonatics would be dead broke, and
B: the world would be a cleaner place ...
But then I don't think the USA has had much peace since its 'War for Independence' from the British in the 1700's ... so maybe what is happening now is the world in a 'War of Independence' from the USA?
damn that box ...
Clepto Chiken
01-31-2008, 03:07 AM
:alright its ok Smutty really, the box just likes you
your right about the middle east though, Hell the biggest example is Isreal (sp?)
What good are bases if don't do anything with them?
Even worse, what do you do when people are screaming that something should be done about these countries committing mass murder upon themselves.
That is what truley gets me is bleeding hearts suddenly turn to the "Super Powers" and say that they should do something to stop the atrocities. Of coarse those bleeding hearts don't realize what you do Smutty, that these people have been killing each other for centuries and don't seem to want to quit anytime soon.
Hell I would prefere the U.S to go isolationist again just to get our economy worked back out the way it use to be.
As for Iraq, I don't think it was ever about WMD. It sure as hell isn't about the oil. I think it is more along the lines of putting armed soldiers in the sights of SOBs who want to take their pubecent angers out on U.S. They find it easier to cross a desert than crossing an ocean.
and heres your box back Smutty and some :beer2 to go with it.
SmuttyChiken
01-31-2008, 04:15 AM
I can assure you that a world of isolationism would be a nice place ...
... alas the world revolves around conflict ...
and Clepto ... if it weren't for the conflicts since 1914 ... the US economy wouldn't be what it is today ... using your economy to produce the tools of war to destroy things, selling the tools of war to your allies and sending in your contractors to rebuild the left overs is quite a productive economic tool ...
... and I fear that the US economy now depends on a conflict every so often to keep it ticking over ...
now stop giving me :beer and telling me to get on my box ... I might fall off and break my neck ...

Now thats not true, we made alot of refrigeratiors, and cars don't forget cars. Kind of sad that those were are two major exports.
And to set the record straight. The U.S didn't have a weapons program till after 1914.
How sad it that, we were having to borrow weapons from the British and french during WW I

The Pentagon announced TODAY the formation of a new 500-man elite fighting unit called the United States Redneck Special Forces (USRSF)
These boys will be dropped off in Iraq and have been given only the following facts about terrorists:
1. The season opened today.
2. There is no limit.
3. They taste just like chicken.
4. They don't like beer, pickups, country music or Jesus.
5. They are directly responsible for the death of Elvis.
The Pentagon expects the problem in Iraq to be over by Friday.
