I've been having a lot of trouble with mech recently and can't seem to get it working.

I just reinstalled the game after having a problem where the blasted thing froze up (hard reboot) when I clicked on multiplayer. Now after reinstall I cant get past the pilot creation screen. After a second or so the whole computer locks up and requires a hard reboot. I've kicked around mek-tek for a bit but haven't found anything useful.

Here are some system specs.

Ok I added the /gosnovideo to the launch command line and that sort of fixed it. I can at least make it into a server and drop. Still seems to suffer random freezing in the menu screens though.

I had vista and XP on same PC as a duel boot so i could see a direct comparison.

All Vista is good for is eye candy, its screws framerates on every single game that runs on it. Its no wonder that M$ is already working on a replacement for Vista and in its life expectancy as an operating system it will probably rate along side Windows ME
