It is with great pleasure that I announce this year's recipient of the Crystal Buttlpug award. This award is given each year by the MechWarrior half of the Chiken Coup to the most deserving durkus (knob in the Canadian vernacular and wanker in the Queen's english). However, for this year's recipient, we had had to go outside our community to find the most deserving individual for this award. Yes this year we will give this award to the most deserving member of FC, and that individual is none other than Shutupandshave, or SUAS as he's been affectionately called in the forums.

SUAS came to our forums, pushing his propaganda with the subtly of Cartman from South Park.

As one can plainly see here, SUAS is MORE than deserves this award. He personifies the WORD “buttplug” with his very presence. Because of this, we the committee of Chikens (Dysed and I) award this most prestigious award to the one individual who deserves it more than any person in history. SUAS.

Suas, I lost 7 games, but for the record they were not in a row. 2 to you, 2 to silencio, 2 to cateye and one to K, if I remember correctly.

I also won a few, didlix, cateye and a teamgame vrs silencio and KFC with Fear :)

I'm going to go on an old rant of mine, but here it is: What guys like you, and sil, do is not real time strategy, you pick a few maps, you train them so that you have optimised all the little details and you have a rigid build. You rinse and repeat. It is predictable and mechanical. It is also extremly boring. And I could do it just as well as you do it, if I didn't find it so extremly boring. Ownage monkey territory, and I am not an ownage monkey. Being an ownage monkey is a very stupid way to go through life. I found it stupid back in 1998 when some prick named "totalownage" coined the term in mplayer, which later became gamespyarcade.

When I played you guys I had 10 games with full retail on gamespy, and maybe another 10 games with other chikens on a HW2 pirate version before I could get retail. To have less than a tenth of the online HW2 experience than you guys do, and to still be a challenge and rake victorys against some of your better players... Well, you come to your own conclusions.

I could have played more in this "war", it started as a friendly thing. By the way it went I now think it was really a waste of my time.

In the future I may hit the HW2 ladder and see just how far I can go to prove a point. Or I might not and just play the games I find more fun, the wacky different games where I get the satisfaction of trying something new.

Enjoy your victorys while you can suas, but dont get to high on them, they will only make your defeats more bitter.

Z, I think you're a great player, and I mean that.

Personally, and this is just the way hw1 worked for me...
I learnt one map, and learnt one strat, and learnt it to the point where I didn't lose.

Then I moved to another map, and did the same, then the third map, I was already winning, because of my experience of the other two.

Hw2 team games are more complex than hw1 team games (thank god), so team playing is a skill in itself, but the game is in it's early stages, and the ladder players are learning to play the way they're used too.

In HW1, once I got good, The HoH lost something like 2 games in total (took various tourny's and must have had well in excess of 100 team games), so at least for hw1, the learning strat I used worked.

Dont knock it till you've tried it I guess.

But these predictable strats that you speak of suas are what ruin the experience for most players. Imo the problem is the maps, they funnel people into specific build orders, instead of allowing people to use build principles, and they favour mechanical gameplay.

I posted about this on relic boards a couple of years back, imo RTS games should adopt some sort of semi random map generator that dosent allow for this type of mechanical gameplay. RTS games are great because of their diversity, reducing RTS to a couple of winning strategies is something which I have allways frowned upon :(

Ah well, merit in developing them I suppose.

The fact of the matter is...some of us were far more perseverant than others. If you'd just accepted games, instead of finding excuses, a LOT more FC would have been bothered to play.

Granted our youngest members is 14 and oldest is 40 something but tbh the level of maturity shown in FC actually surpasses CC and that has to be said. Granted CC are nice people (a selection) but when you go MOUTHING off at other clans trying to nick pick your way round that wonderful fact (we beat you fair and square).

I actually feel sorry for that small group of CC who are in person nice people, but face facts Its a bloody game get over it. This war started off as a bit of a laugh, and someway along the line the fun got lost for competitiveness, and the competitiveness got lost for flaming.

and FYI, FC was created by a SELECTION of BiB and HSC members and I dont think any of us doubt the fact FC was created. And that selection was every member who visited the forums (on both sides).

Just a tip on any other wars that your clan would like to start, if you want it to be conducted in a friendly fashion, put a bit of thought into the comments that you make at the outset.

First posts of the FC in the "You guys sux" thread was mine, which you seem to have no problem with, now it's been explained, next was "You will enslave nothing....nugget", which was aimed at bonnet, and was a joke, and he took it as such.

Most of the chiks thought this was very funny...
There were a few that didn't seem the humour, such as yourself, druid, innocent, etc...

It was those chikens that despite the FC and the Chiks both saying this was a bit of fun, and not serious, took things way out of hand - started making very personal insults etc.

Anyway it's over.

I hope to see a lot of you again in the future in HW2, and you'll have an ally. The idiots among you - well hopefully you'll realise that the only joke left is the way you deal with shit like this...have a laugh about it - then come on Hw2, and we'll have a team game together, and bash some folks.

Sorry to all the chikens when I got riled up (like with the posted PM), and started getting upset - I didn't intend too, and I tried to keep it more cordial than it sometimes was.
