Anybody know how to make Star Control II work on a modern computer. I really miss that game and I think I actually have a copy of it somewhere. Last time I tried to play it, it didn't really work very well.

I'm guessing it's Twins or one of the non-action ones, but I can't remember. I heard it on that site with all the celebrity sound bites.

It might be better if you just find an emulated version of the game. Thanks to the new Windows Systems going NTFS and processors going ungodly speeds old games just can't keep up.

What was the last OS you were able to play the game on?

A 486 with DOS I think. Was able to kind of get it working on '95 but it was pretty freaked out to the point of being unplayable.

http://sourceforge.net/projects/sc2/

These guys appear to have not only taken the source code and made it workable, but also added in stuff that was cut from the original due to memory constraints. They had voices for all the aliens! Cool! Not going to try it out until I get home for fear of causing a messy on my father's computer as it is somewhat touchy.

I played the new SCII a while back and it is exactly like the original but with better sound and voices where added. I liked it quite a bit and this time around I didn't have a game editor so I actually had to use skill :D

My favorite is the Spathi...

That quote is from Running man as you mentioned but I think it went more like this.

"I hope you leave enough room for my fist because I'm going to ram it into your stomach and break your god-damn spine!"

I have friends, where we play Magic with on Sundays and Wednesday nights, and one of the room mates has the game set up in his 3DO on a TV outside in the garage where we play. They have little tournaments between games if they get killed out of the game and have to wait for the current game to end. they LOVE IT! It's like a little version of crack for them. I don't remember ever seeing this game, but it's the reason my friend even bought the 3DO was because of this game. Eventually, my friend beat every one and they quit playing...I do remember that he always got to one ship that they could just NOT kill. It was his favorite, and he ruled with it.

Good luck findind an emulator for a game that's probably born in the time they won't make emulators for...lol
