I seem to be the ONLY resident Chiken who plays "D2"or DIablo2.
I've been in it for over 3 years, and the v1.10 patch has been out since the middle of October. This means that there are NO MORE CHEATS and HACKS. This is a good thing.
They also added a NEW Ladder, so that you can see rankings etc.
How the NEW ladder works is, there is a "season" for the ladder. Meaning, a "season is (as it stands now, and possibley to be updated later) 6 months. In Ladder ONLY games, you can find, or get NEW Rare or Unique Items specific to ONLY LADDER games. This means that people on the Regular Realms won't be getting these special Ladder only Drop Items. THen, after the season is over, the ladder resets it's self, and all the Current Heros will be bounced into the normal Realms, but your shiny new Unique armor or weapon will stay with you. No one knows just how many NEW items there are in the ladder games, as the season is not over yet.
Also, there is a "World Event" when a certain number of SOJ's (Stone of Jordan rings) are sold to Merchants in the game, the server keeps track of this, and when it gets to a random number, the server(s) then select a HELL level game a random and puts a Diablo Clone at where normally the First Closest Boss monster would be. Meaning, If you are in Act 5, and the "Diablo Walks the Earth" text shows up in your game, and your screen shakes violently, then you can be sure that the Diablo Clone is at the First Boss Monster after the First Way Point in that Act.
The Diablo Clone has about an 80% Chance to drop the new Annihlus Charm, this charm is a Godly Item that EVERY ONE and thier brother wants. So if you get the Diablo Clone in your game, consider your self lucky.
The Diablo CLone is SUPER HARD to kill. It will take you time, but keep at it and if you kill him, you may be rewarded.
If you've just read all of this and have NO IDEA what I'm talking about, find some one who has the game and go see it for your self.
It's on sale at Walmart now, and can be bought in a Diablo Pack for about 40 bucks including the Expansion Pack called Lord of Destruction. Then as you create an account, (FREE to play online),
you will then be logged into the system, and then get the proper patch download. For Dial Up users it may take 15 min. For Broadband it will take about 2 minutes.
