BF2142 Battlefreeze

Ran into an issue just recently where all of a sudden my BF2142 stopped working. I would get about 2/3rd of the way thru loading a map (in any mode, SP, LAN, MP) and it would lock-up requiring a HARD reboot. Then after reinstalling and repatching it still didn't work but finally I got past it only to start locking up about 5 mins into the game.

To get around this, I finally did a complete uninstall and re-install of the Punkbuster software (was getting random PB kicks and Key data loss too) using this procedure:

PunkBuster complete re-install (http://support.ea.com/cgi-bin/ea.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=14628&p_created=1176913892)

and removed a .CDB file in the main BF2142 program directory using this procedure:

I was also having the same problem, glad to know I wasn't alone.
I do know that whatever it is, doesn't effect BF2 Punkbuster software. I went immediately to this when I couldn't get 2142 to work, just got to have my sniper fix

Thanx for this info, if Glad hadnt point this thread out to me i was so pi**ed off with the constant disconnects BF2142 was about to be donated to the local charity shop

I too had the random freeze at 50% load. I found this quick fix on a BF forum... simply delete the radial.cdb. Restart the game and it will rebuild the file.

I actually renamed my existing file to be safe. After the restart I noticed the new file was smaller (1,232KB vs 1,496KB), but all works fine.
