My computer still keeps freezing randomly in 2142 (multi player only). I can play single player and other games like oblivion with no problems. I have tried almost everything. Updated all drivers (video, audio, chipset, ethernet), deccelerated onboard audio, disabled VOIP, put low video settings, reinstalled the game, formatted my computer, closed all programs running in the background and nothing. I am pretty sure this problem is a network problem as I dont crash in single player. However, I followed Spilcer's advise and put in another ethernet card and the problem did not go away. Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be? Also, i noticed something today in the DXDIAG.TXT . It says

Does anybody know if this can cause me to crash and how do i fix it?

The problem seems to be in DirectX itself

Windows XP and earlier versions
a. Click Start, click Run, and then type regsvr32 dpnet.dll.
b. Click OK. You receive the "DllRegisterServer in dpnet.dll succeeded." message.
c. Click OK.

Repeat the steps that are listed earlier to see whether the symptoms of a corrupted DirectPlay installation are still present. If symptoms of a corrupted DirectPlay installation are present, exit the DirectX Diagnostic Tool, and then reinstall DirectX.

There's also a magic combination of Vista, Creative XFi, and nVidia graphics cards that causes BSOD at the end of a titan maps. I was having that. To fix it I just changed the audio acceleration in-game from XFi to vanilla Hardware.
