check the fans on cpu and psu

My sons pc started locking up and it was a sticky cpu fan causing it to run too hot

I had a similar issue when my 3.3v rail was dropping too low. It caused my PC to freeze up. My motherboard would give a warning tone when the 3.3v dipped too low though. I downloaded a free program called Speedfan to monitor my voltages, it also let me set a threshold that would sound an alarm in passed.

my PSU seems to be quite warm, but i can exactly get to the fan in it so i don't know if its got a bit stuck or if its fine. Mabey its dusty causing the fan to be flower... get a hoover and hoover the PSU?

yup, mine started doin that too after revelations...threw a 120 mm on the side of it(after cutting big hole). fixed it right up......just open the side up and put a big fan on it and see if that fixes it...if it does...that's your problem...GL.
