I am sick of hearing the fans whirring!! Anyone got some experience with liquid cooling?
Was thinking of the Zalman Reserator, because I have an Antec P150 case, that would take alot of modding to hookup anything with radiators and fans. And I don't want anymore stinkin fans!!

Yeah I went to water , but not after trying a few systems out , and the best I found is the swiftech apogee water block and the mp pump and dual radiator,I'm running 1/2 " tubing that I got a lowes for like 12 cents a foot lol, and it works great, the radiator I ordered direct from swiftech, got a seconds for like 29.00 ,then I added a singel radiator on the back of the pc, so its like a triple 120mm fan system, you cant hear my pc running unless your head is stuck to it lol, the 120mm fans run real slow ,and there silent.
I'm only cooling my cpu, but Im pushing my FX 55 to 3.0ghz , but if you go with a dual 120mm radiator thats enough to cool your vid card also , I just have a real quite fan on it so I never bought a water block for the vid card. hope this helps a little, I had some bad runs with other companys junk systems and some wasted money, until I came accross Swiftech, nice little company, very high quality parts.

Mine was. I used the Danger Den TDX on my FX-57 and the Danger Den 7800 series on my nVidia card.
However, I just upgraded to the Intel x6800 and nV 8800GTX around Christmas time and the new system is very quiet so I don't find I need to go back to liquid cooling.
The biggest issue I had with liquid cooling was ambient temperature. If you're room is at 80, you're not going to get much cooler with, or without liquid cooling. The only other complaint I have against it is the mess that results if you need to move the system (requires draining the system or at least the res tray). Non conductive MCT-40 will conduct by the way...I dripped some on a DVD drive and it fried the power (to the drive only). Oh, and it's messy...
Cheers!

Well the main reason I went with Swiftech is because of the cooling power I get from there pump and radiators , I overclock my cpu's and air was not cutting the musterd, I run 3.0ghz on my fx 55 and its never over 38c full load and while gaming , at idle its 28c , not sure why you cant move your system with the fluid in the resovoir , I have a sealed system and can turn it upside down if I wanted and it wouldnt leak, the threat of a leak is always there, but if installed correctly it shouldnt be a problem.
I did however have major problems with a cheap astek chipset block I bought and it fractured spilling on the motherboard and fryed it :( .some of the of the other parts were floating in fluid , but didnt hurt them lol, I was lucky it was only the m/b , but after running this for a 6 months and seeing they now use swiftech pumps and rads in servers , Its not a bad way to go., just depends what your after, if its only silent then the Zalman water system is a good system to go with.
If your looking for a quite pc and want to stay with air, look at Zalman cpu and vid card fans , there very quite and should do a nice job for ya, also change out your 80mm fans for some quite 120mm fans , there are adapters you can use to go from a 80mm fan size up to a 120mm and there like 7.00 a throw, also use a Zalman fan mate to adjust your fan speeds ,really helps tone them down but yet get good air flow. :)

I have an Antec P150 Quiet White case with sound deadening panels, anti-vibration standoffs for the HD's and super silent 120mm fans (on low speed of course).
If I unplug the CPU fan and my big ass BFG 7800 GS, I wouldn't hear any noise at all......
And since I am not going to upgrade anytime soon from an AGP system, I wanted to silence those two noisemakers.
The reason I am not upgrading yet, is because I am waiting for Vista 64 bit to mature before I do. Also waiting for DirectX 10 and the parts to fall in price.

I paid $1200 bucks for a Mac IIsi, then bought a Quadra 610 for $1000, not including peripherals.....

Since I'm on one of my geek tangents......I just got the boss to give my the company credit card and bought 10 of these (I can't wait till he gets the bill...he almost cried when I spent 45k on two new servers for last years tax write offs)....pricey but they rock for the office workstations.
