Interesting, Moocher it works for you?

The only program I really use on a daily basis is Word and Oultlook. Any alternatives to Outlook that include appointment calenders and email?

The state of Massachusetts is moving away from the Microsoft Word document format (.DOC) and going to the Open Document format (.ODF). I have had no issues with conversion, except in cases of some drastic formatting on the part of Word. In fact, OpenOffice could rescue corrupt Word documents when Word could not (a couple years ago).

I have had experience with its roots ... StarOffice on *nix -- good stuff

Had to look at the history (http://about.openoffice.org/index.html#history) to be sure, but I thought this smelled of Star.

StarOffice on OS/2 was where I first saw it. Before that, it was Describe 5. :D
