I have an ASUS M2N4-SLI mobo in my brand spanking new rig, and apparently there is a bug in the enire M2N line that causes restarts at random. I have done everything for updating all my drivers, flashing the bios, swapping out parts (power supply, ram, video card) to see if any of those was the problem. The best I have been able to achieve is now it freezes at random times instead of restarting....Oh Joy!

I was made aware the Moocher and a few other knowledgeable folk over here are avid AMD nuts and may have a suggestion as to a kickass mobo, I am looking for one in the $100 range.

AMD x2 4800 2.4ghz dual core processor (socket AM2)
2 GB Corsair DDR2 800 RAM unbuffered 5-5-5-12
2x 80GB WD Caviar HD in RAID 0
512MB EVGA NVidia 7950 GT KO VIdeo Card
500w Enermax Liberty PSU
Coolermaster Centurion case (lots of airflow)

and I do not overclock, don't really need it lol.

RMA it. ASUS is famous for MB Revisions *after* known bugs are revealed, mostly because all manufacturers get caught up in pushing a product out to keep up with new product releases & demand, but they still retain a descent track record with addressing revisions overall.

only problem is I can't afford to be down that long as I do work from it at times. If I get a new one, then I can RMA this one and use it on a new workstation at the office.:computer

Gigabyte boards are usually pretty good, I have been an avid Asus buyer for a long time and have had zero problems over the years. I have had to RMA a bios chip off of a board once because of my own stupidity, flashed the bios, and screwed it up...give Asus a call and see if they will reverse RMA a board to you, in other words you pay for it up front and they reimburse your credit card after.

Question is, where did you buy it??
