Does anyone have experience building a Media center pc? I was thinking of building one to replace this whole stack of electronic gear, (4 feet high) in my TV room.

I can build an ATX pretty easily, but the cases are limited and expensive. I was considering a micro ATX form factor....any input would be appreciated.

The other concern I have is I have heard that Bose is the only surround sound speaker that connects directly to a sound card. I am not a big fan of Bose speakers...

they make soundcards that are adaptable for any speaker. They get expensive though. Ones I was looking at were between 150-200 bucks.

That why I just kept my receiver. It had a million input and output jacks on the back and I just feed my Media Center PC audio (and video for that matter) thru my reciever and let it do all the cross connecting between input and output devices.
