Amount of ram will be determined by by processor and operating system.

If u are running a AMD cpu on win XP then the max ram u can go to is 2gb.

U can go higher but its pointless because windows will not be able to access it correctly and if u take it to 4gb it will still only be displayed as 2.5gb. U may also get application errors in some programs.

i beleive Intel cpus will allow more ram but i never use them so i havent tested it.

Winx64 will display ram up to the m/boards max capicity.

I run an AMD FX57 with XP64 so i can address a full 4Gb of RAM. I've ran various benchmarks with 2GB and 4Gb and havn't seen a noticeble diff in gaming, etc. that would offset the additional cost to go to 4Gb. I ended up just sticking with 2Gb and putting the other 2 in my server.

No games to date benefit from more than 2gb.

Yeah, i only tested with 4Gb to see if it would give the OS more 'breathing' room thus possibly increasing performance in other areas. Had the memory so figured why not.
