Ok my USB ports have stopped recognising anything plugged into the port. But in device manager it shows them all working properly but it wont work so if i plug my internet adaptor or a joystick, it wont work so anyone got any suggestions?:computer :computer :computer

My suggestion to you is: STOP SCREWIN WITH YOUR COMPUTER !!
but seriously, assuming your on XP and you done the obvious like make sure the USB hub has power, unplugged and plugged everything back in, done a complete power shutdown of everything and restart ... then I would plug everything back in and go to the Control Panel and run the Add New Hardware wizard to have the system automatically re-detect the devices.
If that doesn't work, then you gotta figure out [a] what did I do to screw this up in the first place (ie. installed or changed something) and fix it or back that out, or [b] completely uninstall these USB devices from the system and re-install them.
Are you using the main USBs off the systemboard or do you have a Hub?

The USB controller is still being detected so its showing in device manager, but u may have blown the pathways to the ports.
Looks like u may have to use a PCI USB port now if thats the case.
