Druid,

I have been a BIG fan of this Saitek series since they were introduced many years ago. I have had 3 X36's (wore them all out after heavy heavy playin of MW and flight sims). I currently have the X45 and I am not as impressed with it. I don't like the pinky shift as much as I tend to cramp up more with it, and I miss the old way the missile (middle fire button) worked reverse of this one (the X36 had it up to protect and the X45 has it down covering the button - which tends to come down at just the wrong times if I get too crazy under heated battles) and I think the quality dropped a bit, but still the best damn joystick/throttle combo on the market as far as I am concerned.

As far as the X52 goes, I can't go into a Best Buy these days without going over to one of these puppies and playin around with it a bit. With nothing seriously wrong with my X45, I can't seem to justify dumping my X45 at this point. The only thing that I find seriously different (and think I would miss) is that the yaw is now built into the joystick as a twist where on the older models, it was a rocker arm at the finger tips on the throttle.

It is TOTAL customizable and with so many top hats to set commands to I had it tricked out so I almost never had to touch my keyboard for games like MW.

VERY VERY KEWL stick !!

Yah...I'd be interested in a review as well. I'm currently trying to set up MW4 with a Dual Shock Game Pad...cuz of my console proficiency! :D

My current stick simply doesn't have enough buttons. I have 12 max with no assignable shift button!

Got it yesterday, spent an hour or so playing around with it.

First impressions:
The j/stick is very similar in feel and movement to the Saitek Evo and does seem very smooth, and the throttle assembly button layout has some very useful features.

Biggest thing that i have to get used to is the amount of movement with the j/stick axis, my old Thrustmaster 2 has very short tight axis and all movement was small.

The same with the throttle, the amount of travel seems emense, but since this is designed for a flight sim then i suppose it is actually in keeping with an real aircraft throttle.

Setting up the buttons profile is going to take time, simply because of the amount of options that are available, there are many combinations of button arrangements i will have to try before i find the most comfortable setup.

It really is a magnificent stick but is totally different to anything ive used before so i thing it will take a while to get used to the arrangement.

But so far i love it :D

i bought this stick last year, the amount of movement needed along each axis was the reason I took it back a day later to get my $150 bucks back. I couldnt get the quick response i desire with it, but, yea, it has huge potential for button programming. Nice Flight Sim stick though...... I couldnt wait for this thing to come out. I was really pissed it didnt perform like I imagined it would. -MJ

That stick looks pretty sweet!! Have been looking at that one too...but since I don't play mech anymore or have a decent flight sim can't justify the money.....hey Mech, I lived in Sylacauga for awhile back in the early 80's.....
