For the 3rd time my Logitec Freedom 2.4 packed up so i have swapped it for a Saitek Cyborg Evo.

This does seem a nice stick, but it has an annoying problem.

Everytime the PC is restarted it has it be re-calibrated.

I have installed the latest drivers, but its still the same so perhaps a windows problem?

Any one come across a similar prob or any advice on this!!

I had that stick for 4 days, and I had the same problem. Don't know if its an OS prob or not, shouldnt be because I have XP. I took it back for that reason. Personally, I like the MS sticks. I have the MS FFB 2. I dont use the FFB at all, but this stick is ultra smooth and accurate. Its also got a heavier base, which I need. The FFb sticks are built heavier duty (well, the MS FFB sticks are IMO), with a roller ball and gear gadgetry controlling stick movement, not that crappy spring or coil stuff. I would recommend the MS FFB 2, for $60 bucks.

Bawk!! Toxic,

i have just checked out the Saitek FORUM (http://www.saitekforum.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=114), and this is a real bug with the EVO.

It looks like i will be returning this stick ASAP.

I may go back to a MS stick, i used a MS precision pro (1) for 18 months before i broke it playing MW4.

Since then in the past 18 months i have been through 2 Cyborg Gold, 1 Cyborg Platinum, 3 Logitec Freedom 2.4 and now this Evo.

There HAS to be a decent joystick out there somewhere!!!!!!

Dang Druid, your sure enuff tough on sticks! ...listen, i posted a month or 2 ago saying a had 2 MS FFB generation 1 sticks. I still have both. If you want, you can have one. I lucked up and bought a practically brand new one from a co-worker of mine for 15 bucks!!!!!!....lucky, aint I!! lol... let me know and you can have it. thought about selling on ebay, but the highest bid price was around 10 bucks, so it aint worth the time and effort. Its still in fine shape, and IMO, better than the evo, Logitech, etc...

BAWK!

I can tell from experience nothing beats a MS FFB generation 1 stick. Even the Generation 2 apears silly in comparision due to cost reductions, and bad ergonomics (in comparision). Both are collectors items now as they are not build anymore (MS left the stick market a while back).

If I do find a batch in this little shithole of a country I live in, I will buy enaugh of those for a lifetime (20 sticks will do then, assuming I game till my 90th birthday).

I'm not a stick pro like u folks I guess but i remember a long time ago (when i played mw3) I used a MS Sidewinder pro Forcefeedback stick. This thing was just awsome, it was really intended for Flight SIms but it worked very ok for MW3! Unfortunately I passed the stick to a cousin of mine so i dont know the exact model anymore.

MS makes some really good Joy -sticks, pads (pedals?!?) _O_ . Why bother with logitech? Only thing they know to make well are mice and keybords :D Oh well just my 2 unpro cents.

ya, the FFB generation 1 is a great stick, with perfect button placement (like the thumb button on the bottum of the base). Thats the only thing I don't like about the new FFB Precision 2 stick. But, what it lacks in that xtra button, it more than makes up for in accuracy and stick sensitivity. You can even adjust dead zone sensitivity with the FFB P2, you cant with the GEN1. IMO, I had very good control with the first one, and now even more with the Precision 2. I still have a generation 1 (druid is gettin the other one) for back up purposes

MS has gotten out of the Joystick market??, not according to Best Buy, Circuit City, or the sidewinder web site....... I hope that isnt true, because you just cant beat a MS joystick when it comes to quality of materials, sensitivity, and accuracy (IMO!)

Tried several tips from various forums, still cant cure this problem.

Moral of story... DONT BUY AN EVO :(
