View Full Version : Help: Problem with TFT monitor.

K, i got this weird ass problem.

I just switched from a 19" CRT monitor to a 19" samsung TFT...and now BF2 wont start.
It doessnt do a thing....
I start BF2, the screen goes black for a second or 2 and then switches back to my desktop.
No error...no nothing.

I reinstalled BF2 from scratch, updated to the latest monitor driver....but no go.
It doesnt do anything :(

Anyone got any ideas????? please??

whats the screen resolution of the TFT is it much higher than the CRT?

If so is the game now trying to run at a res that your vid card cant handle in BF2.

its on 1280x960x32
But i tried 1024 also..and no go.
The CRT was also 1280 btw.

And even after the reinstall...with default settings, it doesnt do anything :(

So BF2 crashes back to the desktop?

Have you tried starting BF2 on your CRT and then plugging in your TFT?

But i got another tip that i'm trying first... setting the game default to thesame resolution and hz as my tft (1280x1024 at 70Hz).
Maybe that'll allow it to start up :P

Yes, mine does that every now and then but mine does it after everything has loaded and goes to desktop before the join screen pops up...VERY frustrating indeed. Awaiting solution as well :blob:

Works now.

Still dunno what the cause was, but presumably you DONT wanna install the game for a CRT monitor and then switch to TFT....cause even a reinstall of BF2 wont fix it by itself.

I had to edit the general.con and video.con manually fo rit to finnaly work :P
(after posting on 4 forums :D )

So anyway...I'M TFT ENABLED !! :jump

ONly problem now, is that my account seems screwed up.

IN game i am lance corporal, on the BF2 stats site i am Private first class @100% and in the control panel in BF2 i am only 87% through Private First class..
