ATI MOBILITY 9000

OK, dumb question...

If I buy a laptop that has an ATI Radeon Mobility 9000 w/ 64 MB of RAM will I be able to play HW2?

I will keep looking online, but I am pretty sure I can. I thought that maybe someone has tried with that specific card, and could have some input.

surely you can but with some sacrifices..the most important to me would be quality w/ high framerates. which you cannot get w/ 9000 mobile..try the ti 4200mobile card..you can get a 128mb version..

Well the laptop I am buying off Ebay doesn't have the video card option, but if for some reason I am not happy with the ATI card I will try out your suggestion if the funds exist.

A mobile Radeon 9000 is compareble to a regular radeon 9000. Not ecxactly i know but the latter played Unreal 2003 fine for me so it should run HW2 ok. Offc there are sacrifyses! But be honest how many times are you gonna look at the graphics in the heat of battle :smoke: Oh yeah the Mobile thingy...

I happen to have a laptop lying arround here with just such a baby in it! Bawk! However the mobility of this thing is arguable but hey :drinking: I'l test run it for you and let you know. I can imagine extreme zooming in hw2 will get a bit messy though... Dunno I'l see. Gonna be tomorrow prolly cuz to be honest I want to play HW2 now :D

Oh 1 more thing! Dont you really want something with a mobile 9600 in it?!?! :-)

If you are really gonna play on it intensely i'd just save up a bit more. It pays back Double trust me! I know cuz i have a shiny 9700pro in my rig :tongue:

one thing ati has above nvidia is it doesnt drain the battery as fast cause unlike the ati nvidias ti4200go uses the same core as its big bro da desktop version..soz its back and forth..long games go with what blash...pla..mmm.. :stupid: (lol) about going for the bigger ati.. if you will always have an outlet handy, id go w/ ti4200go..

I just gave it a testrun, it ran fine at standard game settings. Tested with zooming and everything. A full fleet in attack against an unsuspecting easy cpu :pimping: That was fun lol

testrig: Ati Radeon Mobility 9000, AMD 2400+, 512 ddr 7200 40 gig hd. I'm ok if i have to travel i guess \:D/

O:) Well its my GF's rig, she plays cardgames on it mainly lol My main rig which actually performs a lot better is a 2200+ 512 dd (2700) MSI KT400 with a Radeon 9700 pro in it.

Anyway that laptop your looking into is up for the task to run HW2 at least if it has a decent cpu and 512 ddr in it.
