Make sure your bandwidth settings are to cable, not T1. Keep the graphics options set to medium but change it to your favorite resolution. Does pretty damn good with that.

Make sure you play with Chikens and get on their squad. We definately kick some ass in a group.

I have more time watching Mini play than actually playing myself becuz of a big work project I am on, but it seems to be very kewl. Mini was sniping from some crane on a map and having a blast watching him pick off peeps at like 800m.

I have been playing Counter-Strike:Source since Half-Life 2 came out and personally think I like that better at this point. I can't judge the graphics yet, but the maps are so huge compared to CS, I'm not sure I like that part. But having access to vehicles and aircraft is very sweet. I did manage to get Mini off long enuf for him to show me the Fighter Jet and the graphics on his monitor for that plane were just wild !

I cashed in all my other Fathers Day gifts (lord I love my kids) and am having Mini pick up a nVidia GT6600 sometime this week. WooHoo...

Homeworld2 and Battlefield2 - that has a nice ring.

Now if they'll just get a mechie mod finished for BF2 we'll be all set.

I hate how when I click off the "no full games" game filter, almost all the games on the list are still full.

It would also be nice to have a ping filter, since it's frustrating to have to navigate through all these 300+ servers.

The join process is too slow. Takes too long for the server list to populate and if you change the sort and refresh it resorts itself to default.

Other than that, once you get in game it's pretty fun - especially if you get a few good squad mates.

How are you guys locating each other??? Are you using Chiken TS2, or the BF2 VOIP?

Do we have any decent pilots yet?

Im practicing my helo fyling in the demo and have a 50/50 chance of actually landing the thing without crashing at the moment.

I find the Arab helo a lot harder to fly than the USMC ones, so any tips on flying?

Here are some lessons I got from Logan:

1. Treat the chopper like a woman, ya only need to give it a hint of where ya wanna go and usually it'll oblige ya, and for FAWKS SAKES be gentle.

2. Don't work on landing until you can hover after going balls to the wall.

3. After hovering and landing, THEN work on aiming your rockets.

4. By this time you're ready for stunt flying. Go under bridges, pipelines, into the back end of the US carrier where the boats are and out again, fly through warehouses, and other crazy silly things. You'd be surprised at how being able to do those things helps you in combat flying.

5. Remember that the rudder controls are for turning at almost hovering speeds while the yaw controls are for full speed flight.

6. Hum or sing the Airwolf theme song, it makes your noobish manuvers seem planned (at least in your own mind).

It's also good to have someone in the front seat on comms with you and able to give you some pointers. Sure that poor bastard will crash many a time with ya, but the good thing is that when you see him bail, you know you've done something REALLY DUMB.

I actually prefer the Havoc to the Z10 or Cobra, it's a bit more resiliant and is only a tad bit more sluggish than the Cobra. Try the blackhawk for just manuvering and such it's a pig to fly but it's VERY forgiving.

I'm waiting for the PoE mod (www.pointofexistence.com) to get released for BF2. I played it almost exclusively in BFV, and LOVE the fact that you can get an Apache, an Aligator (Soviet), an F-22, and a forward swept wing jet from the Soviets.

I need a new chair. Sitting in this damn thing for 3-4 hours per night playing BF2 is murder...

Clepto, we miss ya. :D

Well I am still playing Demo servers, so whenever I get the game I will in practice at least

I have found a true dislike
I was kicked out of a game today because of excessive teamkills
I killed the same guy at least 3 times
2 of those times were within a minute of each other.
There I was on top of a roof with a perfect sniping view
Enemies constantly passing by, so I naturally put a claymore at the only staircase

Needless to say some people need to learn that the RED box with a skull means danger
