Hi fellaw chikens....
I got a question, i want to make a funny banner, with chiken spaceships and all, I want to use the chiken ships from the movie (dvd) "jimmy neutron" tough when I try to screen capture parts of the movie they turn out black, I tried it the default ala printscreen way and with a prog. called capture by george...(don't ask me about the name... well.... ask george) so if anyone knows any tools for this kind of uhr... capturing, I would be very happy :)

there is a program called, erm, Video Decompiler Pro, basically it grabs films frame by frame and converts them to image formats, bmp, jpg, gif etc
You would probably have to use some kinda of movie splitter to shrink it down to just the few seconds of motion you want tho otherwise you would end up grabbing a shyteload of stills

You can use a program called fraps it records direct from what ever is going threw your grphx card. I use this for recording games etc.http://www.fraps.com/
Very handy program that but it saves raw so your gona have to use virtual dub and select a compression format that you like (divx xvid)
Good luck

It is.. I use it a lot for hw2 just for looking at my start to see times etc.
Bad news is if your recording at 25fps it will be 4gigs of a file after 5 mins.
and at 10 fps you will get 15mins (4gig)
so if you are doing a recording just stop after 5 mins or 15 (F9) and start a new move (f9 again) then in virtual dub or tmpenc you can merge the movies together when your compressing them with a codec

Try Virtual dub or TmpEnc You can get a 4 gig file size down to 5 megs on div x 5.03 compression from it

Cow,
What format do you want it in? I can capture a few different clips for you and set you up with FTP access to get them.
I've got a WinTV board that does capture from DVD (and I have the DVD too...). Just give me a time index from the movie and I'll grab it for you.

Are you sure that this isn't about the typo I found in the headline of this thread?
Chikenshipsbanner
Is that supposed to be a "p", or was it really a "t"?

I wanted to ask a quesiton about fraps and virtualdub.
I've got a movie recorded of BF1942 for about 4 minutes, I want to keep the original sound but add music as well.
How do I go about getting the music in there but keepin the bullets and deathgurgles?
Me and a buddy are making a music video :)
