Can anyone give me an idea how to overclock a PII on a compaq motherboard(sorry piece of Sh**)?

chances are, its not going to happen unless you have access to the multiplier and clocks in the BIOS.

Look on the motherboard and there might be jumpers to adjust speeds (the ghetto old school way)

Isn't overclocking a PII just about the same as turbo-charging a Yugo?

Snake, some of the newer MB has adjustments in the bios for overclocking

freely adjustable BIOS multipliers and core clocks.

For example (my proc can do this) runs at

200 x 10 = 2000mhz

adjusting the clock speed (operating frequency)

205 x 10 = 2050mhz

adjusting multiplier

200 x 11 = 2200mhz

this is how my BIOS handles it.
