Man, I LOVE this thing! The game selection is somewhat limited at this point but the system is phenomenal. Best Handheld gaming machine to date and I had an Atari Lynx. It's got WiFi, a sleep mode that lets you stop the action and return back to exactly the same point at any time, probably the biggest screen on a handheld to date, and the graphics are fantastic. It doubles as a MP3 player and they are releasing movies in UMD format for it.

Sister gave it to me for my B-Day. :elephant: :drinking: :band: I probably would have waited for more games to come out before buying one since I'm not a huge racing or sports fan, but I got Wipeout Pure with it and am really digging it.

remember to pick up a copy of Final Fantasy Advent Children when it come out on 9/15/05.

I got myself a DS and I have to say I'm not that impressed with it. But the wireless mutliplayer feature is kinda cool. Escpecially since I heard that the 007 game can linked up 60 DS in one game.

Eh... Once Square starts putting out stuff for the PSP, everyone else will get in line. I think we'll be seeing some pretty good stuff for it by Christmas. The one thing I don't like is the way the power and earphone cords hang from right below the buttons and D-Pad. They kind of get in the way. Wipeout is still fun though.

It plays just like all the other wipeouts with a couple minor changes since the last one I played and looks graphically up to par with the PS2 version although with a handheld screen, crappy resolution is less noticeable.

There is no pit stop area anymore. Instead you can choose to absorb powerup items for health rather than use them.

Also, you can opt to do a barrel roll move on some of the higher jumps that does some damage to your ship but gives a crazy speed boost when you land.

Aside from Time Trial, Single Race, and Tournament, I've only managed to unlock one new mode which is called Zone where you constantly go faster and faster and the goal is to get as many laps as possible before you explode from hitting too many walls.

The music as alway, is extensive and you can choose to randomize, sequentialize, or remove songs from the playlist.

I'm really psyched that they sell 1GB cards for the PSP. It's got WiFi and USB so you can load all kinds of music and video on it although apparently getting the proper video format can be a bit of a hassle.

You might want to wait until Christmas though. USD $250 is a bit steep for a handheld and I suspect they'll drop the price for the holiday season unless it starts selling like hotcakes.

Not sure. There was something about having to create a special directory for movie files. I think sound and pictures were less of a big deal.

YES I would buy the thing for wipeout alone:), but to be perfectly honest its not worth it if you dont use all the features it has to offer. I dont see anyone buying th UMD movies:\

But why would anyone buy the UMD movies on it when it only works for the psp, doesnt seem like something people would buy unless tehy just want to watch it all the time on a little screen.
