Terraserver is where Micro$oft likes to show off it's new database technologies. Millions of images and thousands of hits per day make a great stress test for a database server farm. I remember when it upgraded from PPro systems to PIII systems.

Yup, seen that a few years ago, around 1998 or some such. I was pleased they have the USGS maps for Alaska now available. I'll have to look to see if they still have a funny picture of the harbor in Port Angeles, WA. Half the picture was taken while the tide was out, the other half was taken while it was in. :D
