Post WoW related stuff in here.
Like Screenies :D

A short intro into the review:
Currently, World of WarCraft is in Phase 1 of beta, and it’s quite apparent that the “Blizzard Quality” is there already; this game is more stable, and arguably more fun than most games out there now. Oh, sure, there are problems; this IS a beta, after all. I’m not going to waste much ink going over technical issues, given the early stage of the beta. WoW is so confident of the current status that they’ve taken the radical step of not having an NDA, even during the early beta. That’s a significant change from the usual modus operandi, where the legal work involved in testing the game can be significant. Instead, the only limitation Blizzard has placed on us is related to posting in-game movies; we can’t. Other than that we are free to discuss the game. Blizzard does have a lot to be proud of, even in the early beta, so it’s nice to see them step out from behind the NDA curtain and enjoy some of the praise.

That said, World of WarCraft isn’t a revolutionary game. There aren’t any radical changes to the formula all MMOG’s are based on: kill stuff to get better loot and the higher levels needed to go kill bigger things and get even better loot. The leveling treadmill you know, and probably don’t love, from any other MMOG is still there. However, instead of a treadmill where you stand in one place looking at the wall, WoW’s treadmill is one of those futuristic ones that make you think you are actually going someplace. What I mean by that is Blizzard has done such a great job at burying the treadmill, most times you don’t realize you are even on it.

WOW NOT RELEASED IN EUROPE UNTIL FEBUARY!!?!?

Oh great....fine....
ARGH

And ontop of that, WE CANT EVEN PLAY OUTSIDE EURO SERVERS!!
And that goes for all servers..
If ur on a N-US server, you cant play on EUro or asian or aussie servers etc...
THAT SUCKS ASS!!

http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/t...mp=1#post385040

f I live in Europe or Asia and have preordered a US version of the game from an online retailer, will I be able to play the game when I receive it?

Players who do not use a method of payment accepted in North America and who do not have a North American billing address will not be able to play on US servers. Therefore, we highly recommend that players in other regions instead preorder the game for their local region and purchase their World of Warcraft subscription when the game launches locally to them. Doing so will ensure that they have the best possible World of Warcraft gameplay and support experience available.

So....ermm...we Euro's have to wait for the EURO version anyway.
If we dont, we'd have to have a US credit card or something so they can bill us.
And i dont for one :(

$#^%&*()_(*&^% WE HAVE TO WAIT FOR FEBUARI THEN!!! :rant

What is the situation for those located in Asia? Will they be able to play on the US servers?

While we have currently only announced our plans for launching World of Warcraft in Korea and China, we can confirm that like players in Europe, players in Korea and China will be able to play on local servers and enjoy native-language customer support at launch. For those who wish to play on servers outside of their region, we will look into providing a specific solution that addresses their concerns after launch.

What servers will the Middle East and Australia utilize at launch?

We're still examining options for the Middle East and Australia and will release more information for these regions as soon as possible.

Will you be restricting North America based on region, also?

As with Europe and Asia, North American players will be restricted to North American servers. Because there are two locations to service players in North America, we will recommend that players there connect to the North American server that is closest to their particular home region for the optimum online experience.

EUROPEANS DONT ALL SPEAK THESAME LANGUAGES!!! :rant

I dont wanna play with ducthies and frenchies and germans who all speak their own language!!

#$%^&*()*&^%$#@

I'm thinking about it, but am waiting to hear if they are going to wipe the Beta accounts first...

No beta wipe = no play for me
