Merc's display settings and cable settings

Since i have been away, i need to know, does that setting in the cable connection thing in Mercs really make a difference? I was playing on ultra high settings and my screen jumped around a lot. Reduced it to high, still, and now i use med, my game doesn't look pretty anymore! AWE! and i have a pretty high graphics card, and cpu. WAAAAHHH!! i still do not know if it's my ISP or what. So i guess my question is, what the hell does that setting do for your coneection.

what is the connection setting? When it askes you what type of cable you have, what do you use?

Soup, basically, most Mercs servers have their connection speed set to 56K so the dialup people can actually play on their servers. If you set you connection speed very high it will have trouble communicating with servers set to this speed. Try a slow setting.

Your game should still look exactly the same. Connection speed has nothing to do with graphics. My connection speed is 56K and my graphics are on the highest level. Looks great to me!

If any of you is having problems on a server, and your connection speed is turned up, try the same thing. It may help.
