Warning dont go and see Alien Vs. Predator * Spoliers inside

First off, Ill be right to the point it sucks balls. How on earth Anderson could destroy an aliens v predator movie is now fact.

Anyhow on to the sham of a movie.

Starts of with the usual plot building ( which takes 1/2 the movie) with some charactor development and introduction. Basically a pyramid is descovered in antartica and the human team is sent to investagate. Off course this is really a training ground for the predators and the humans set of the hunt before the predators have got there weapons.

Now heres what pissed me off with it.
First off the predators are ment not to see anything thats cold etc Throw that rule out when yuo see a human hidden in ice but mr predator forgets that rule and inpales mr human :-).
A 7 foot tall predator who is easally id say about 250 odd pounds heavery than the woman co star cant jump more than 4 foot like her ( forgetting that in pred 1 and 2 they could jump 30 odd feet in the air)
Thr first 2 predators are killed in a matter of seconds by one alien while a cool battle it lasts no more than 20 secs. The next battle between scar the predator and the alien lasts about another 30 secs which ends up with a face hugger jumping at him. The camera cuts and you dont see if it lands on him or not. I will put you out of your missery now and tell you as I dont want anyone else having to watch this trash. The hugger lands and an alien is now inside him that you wont see till the final closing sequience, while of course this breaks another rule of the files unlike any of the other alien films the aliens now take around say 20 secs to get out after being put in by face huggers. Seems it depends of weither or not the aliens could be arsed tieing them up etc Where as scar can see an alien in one of the humans he cant see the one inside himself either..hummm
The alien queen battle lasts around 2 mins and bored me to tears if it was the directors intention to make me consider getting a razor and slashing my own wrists than complete watching this he was very close to being succesfull.
The tag line " Whoever wins, we lose should actually read The preds dont win, nor do the aliens, we win with a 120 pound pilot who can wear alien blood without it buring right threw her like it did everything else in the movie ( must have been the makeup she was wearing ).

Heres the good points of the flick.

The temple looks amazing.
You will find yourself cheering at the closing sequience just for relief its over.
The alien queen looks cool for around 3 secs before it starts to move.
With mr anderson directing this and looking at it being succesfull allready we will more than likly get another one of these but with all the new hatred towards anderson he wont be doing it

Anderson by the way is the director and directed such greats as....wait for it..... MORTAL COMABT! he also directed resident evil which wasnt to bad but could have been better if he had used the george a remeros origional script for it.

Do your self a favor dont see this trash, this movie should have been much better and its simply a cash in. Playing on what people want but dosnt deliver. The aliens and preds dont come into this flick till have way threw and even with them there isnt much of them to see left.

I will agree the movie could have been better. but I give the movie more credit than you do. The last fight between Ms Queen alian was not bad at all I think I would like to know why you thought that part was so bad?

Yes the preds got the butts kicked in this movie more than anyone(besides humans) and while the fights scenes were nice, yes they could have been longer and instead of doing quick cuts so you couldn't see clearly what was going on exacly, they should just show in clear motion how they are fighting!!!! I hate it when movies do that!!!

And may I ask what rule that says they cant change there visor to see that guy in the snow, you know they have more than one visor, unless this is something I dont know from the comic book.
Either way I didn't have much of a prob with that.

The main thing that that got me thinking was the whole Pred/human alliance bull crap, all of a sudden they are friends? And the pred neads her help to get out? This might have been ok if they maybe presented it a diffrent way but even then the whole consept was really stupid.

And yes I was worried to crap that the director was going to bring this movie down like he did Resident Evil, and I will say I was partialy right!

Ikit starship troopers the original sucked big time. The only good part was the swarms of bugs. They butchered the author's purpose for writing the book. Just to give you an idea, 1/4 of the book is actually combat and the rest of political theories. There was no long lasting romance and Carl(aka Dugie Howser) dies half way through the book on an insignificant research base on pluto.
Last but not least they forgot the bloody power armor. Every MI trooper had a set of power armor. There is more but I am not going into it.

Well, I saw starship troopers 4 times in the theatre's when it came out. Of course this could be due to the fact that I moved to some podunk one horse town and lived in a motel room for 2 weeks with no cable. I thought it was good. Except for gaps in the story line, but they did OK for putting a big story into a small movie.

The movie theatre only had 20 seats :O

Well I haven't seen the movie yet, but it sounds to me like they stole the plot line from the book Aliens vs Predator : Prey and butchered it. For any who like these kinds of books, it's a good one. The sequels are both good as well but not as good as the original book.

I im not kidding but if mr Anderson ever sets his hairy face in my way i will enjoy elbowing her a few times befoe the security guards pull me off.

Anyhow yes its a direct rip of from the origional comic. yet missing the core good points of the comic...ie plot,..... storyline...charactors etc. I believe if Anderson left that crack pipe alone for a few mins he might realise what he did but hey I dont think he has a brain left.

Anyhow for a popcorn flick its ok though id rather wash tampons after some very, very fat hairy thing has had it ***censored*** than watch this thing again

As for Starship troppers I really liked it. Plot holes aside it was enjoyable. While not to the origional books but good non the less. Ie stephen kings " IT" I loved the book and also liked the movie. Both totally different but both good. Also the same with the stand for me personally. I liked the book in fact I liked the book so much I read it about 8 times ( Thanks Angel) while the movie was different it was great to see how different it was to my own personall verson of it. But in aliens v P it dosnt count manly because they basically disolved the origional concept script and made up and changed the rules as they seen fit. The public arnt stupid ( well not all of them) but people are bound the realise that alien blood if it cuts threw solid rock with a few ounces yet the same dosnt cut thre human or predator nor the lapses in content ie pred jumping 30 foot then deciding he cant do that anymore and jumping no more than 4 foot or a human of 120 pounds punching an alien harder than the pred of id say at least 300 odd pounds and in shape. and a warrior with ultimate combat skills? Jesus If thats the case id fight both of them with both arms tied to a kfc burger ( with chicken gravey) and one of my nuts straped behind my back ( Yes they are that big) Joking aside
ok Im only a brown belt in Ju Jitsu and an all Ireland champion at boxing at my weight ( All be it under 16 at the time, though the jui jitsu is only in the last few days i got my new belt :assshaking: ) .....

I have more contempt for this move than anything else and truth be told Im a huge fan of the origioanl predator movie, yes the second flick sucked but not as much as people make out ( it was origionally made for arnie but he way busy making kidergarden crap and wanted it delayed, that didnt happen and they rewrote the wole lot to suit the new star of it) I read the script for his version and boy it was good though i still liked the second version.
If I manage to find that script of it again I will post it here.

Reason being he will butcher everything he gets his hands and with the word being he has his beedy little eyes on doom and Castle Wolfenstien as a movies I am hoping ID see sence and let a combat shotgun go off ( Accedientally) in his face ( not hard to miss it blocks the sun from certain angles)

They really didn't do well putting the book into a movie at all.
They really missed alot.

The power armor alone was a big deal, the thing had machine gun, flamer, automatic grenade launcher, and if a mini nuke for special occassions. Not to mention the jump jet system.

All troops drops were done by each trooper being put in an egg and launched out of a tube in high orbit where they broke up in lower atmosphere and the trooper landed.

All bug warriors could shoot a type of energy beam.

Neo dog, they forgot the Neo dogs

Hypno sleep for soldiers so they learned every detail of mission while in sack time.

The fact that MI did not have support personal, every trooper took up more than one job slot. All soft jobs were filled by navy or civilians.

And as mentioned before the third race, skinnies Dark skinned 7 feet tall humanoids.

So much missing from the movie, they even did the basic training wrong.

ok mate first off see predator 1 where arnie is covered by mud and the predator cant see him under any visor ( he flicks threw them all) in pred 2 in the freeser sequience as well ( without mud)

the alien queen looked cool but as i said, once it moved it was like an coffin dodger looking for the toilet before his colostrofey bag blew. The animation on it compaired to a lower cost Aliens was frightening with moderen teck they couldnt replicate the same sort of frightening movement ( faq see aliens end sequience), well its frightening considering the budget this movie had comapaird to pred 1 (25 mill) aliens (17 mill) and this (60 mill) with not having to pay for big actors and a 60 mill budget is crazy and makes you wonder where the cash went. ( most people seem to think it went on andersons crack pipe :bong: ) while i myself think that could be true i think the sets cost the brunt of the cash as the detail is amazing though not that most people will notice every rock in it is individually sculpted though spending all that cash on that and not showing it off is either brilliance or maddness depending on the rest of themovie...ie see aliens for the work on the alien lair

as i said as a popcorn flick it looks ok as a pred or an alien flick forget it, your better off not ruining either types of sci fi fiction :bong:

Starship Troopers was ok, not great, I was so pissed when they didn't include the third race, that pissed me off so I wasn't really interested in it from that point out. 2 sucked even worse with really not makeing any sense or not having really much to do with the first film.

I haven't seen AVP yet, but Why TF did they put it on Earth in modern times? Would have been so much cooler if a crew of humans inadvetently landed on a Predator safari world. Then they could have all kinds of other nasty weird stuff... all of it half eaten or burninated by acid of course.

Mini and I went to see it as he is a big fan of AVP and has read several of the books. I for one, don't have the stomach for a lot of blood and guts so from that prespective I can say that it was much more enjoyable for me. Also being a shallow individual who doesn't look for the meaning of life in a film, I have to say that the film wasn't as bad for me as other have indicated here. Of course, if the movie critics give it a thumbs down, I'm usually more interested in seeing it :)

Mini gave it *** (3 stars) and I would give it probably **+ so take that for what it's worth

I looked forward to this movie coming out, I was ready to go opening night and see it, but something came up and I my plans didnt go thru...now I am thankful because I have heard a dozen reviews on it and basically ive heard its craptacular. Shame on them for ruining something that had such potential.
