Well...after my innitial reinstall i am now working on tweaking my system a bit.
Now i am not the best of tweakers and could use some pointers/tips as i suspect alot of other peeps aswell..
I use Powerstrip to tweak my vidcard, but besides setting my Memory and Enigine clock to 325/680 (Gf4 ti 4600) i wouldnt know what to tweak.
So...any help would be welkcome.
Note: this kinda tweaking is WITHOUT extra cooling, watering, venting and/or use of refridgerators of any kind.
Anyone?

PLace your PC in the shade and give it a name - when possible caress said PC until it issues a slight purring noise.

I know theres a lot of progs out there that say "Boost overall system performance by X %!!"
X of course being anywhere from .01 to 95
My past experience is that these programs actually slowed down my system....or became an annoyance unless I sent 19.95 to some guy in Colorado Springs. The only positive way I can think of to tweak your system without spending a penny is to just KILL everything in running in the background (sometimes the 3 finger salute is useful......sometimes). But thats pretty basic to free up ram.
Other than that, by extra Ram to help unburden the CPU.
But whatever you do, do not try and make your own water cooling for you computer. One of my friends felt he could do it as good as the stuff you can buy online..... he later shorted out his entire house for 3 days.
Oh and being nice and gentle to the PC does help, along with shade and keeping your room near freezing. :)

They make that gelatin cooling system that iz suppozed to be safer and better than water and it lookz KEWL! I thought about going with that, but i have enough glow in the dark partz already. Without extra cooling be sure not to overclock your cpu or vidcard much. The slightest change makez a lot of difference in heat.
The one thing you can do that will surprize you iz to install a Raid 0 config (2 36GB 7,200 RPM HD'z will suffice) with a third hd, if possible something like a 250GB 10,000 RPM SATA, az deep storage. You'd be surprized at the difference that can make.
The driver iz a piece of [expletive deleted] and i wouldn't put it in my [expletive deleted] [expletive deleted] computer if Moocher'z [expletive deleted] could sing jingle bellz.
I bin doin sum reedin on et and it sloughs doun you're seak tym bye tieun up yer procasser'z ability to tye dreckly to the eyedeeE controllar, butt iz faster at fetchun the bigg bits of datuh, meenun that ifin yer workun with datuhbass fiels awl day it'z pretty good, but suhckz at yuhr normuhl stuff.
Case and point: take any one word I just typed by itself and it takes you a while to find out what I meant. However, if you read the whole thing you can cipher it pretty quickly.
Golly, I sure am smart! :bang:

BEWARE!
I did the tweaks, well most of em that I felt were pertinent to my system and my needs, and one of them made it so I could not access about half of the websites that I tried, in addition to that, it made it so some of the websites that did come up have errors on them.
The tweak was on Page Six of the first set of tweaks on the website, that had to do with changes in the registry. I think it wsa the DisablePagingExecutive one.
I know it was this one because I went back and changed each and every one and this was the only one that gave me any problems.
It was kind of frustrating, cuz I am a novice at this, and when I couldn't access the tweaking website to guide myself back to what I have done, I was pretty upset. :computer:
But after toil and hardship (5 minutes) I figured it out and fixed the problem.... so BEWARE my friends... BEWARE....
OTHERWISE!!!! The tweaks that didn't screw me up seem to be amazing, especially a couple in the second set.
Thank you Clucker you da Man!
