Okay, well this is very distasteful for me to have to do because of the amount of time and effort I have put towards this unit. From the creation of a Unit SOP, SOP Supplement I, the Leaders handbook, & the Leaders handbook (“Training the Lance”) Supplement I. I have invested a multitude of hours to this unit and yet I have had my personal and professional integrity questioned and impugned repeatedly by some members and many that have recently left. All of this, for maintaining a personal relationship outside of this “Game” with a former RGMU member. Yet these same members continuously disobey direct orders and failed to follow RGMU CoC on com’s during drops, both publicly and privately in open forums, as well as lying and intentionally causing conflict within the unit that has directly impacted unit morale and membership. Yet our unit leadership has done nothing but talk to them about it. This lack of leadership has allowed these problems, conflicts and lack of character by some members in the unit to grow to the point that total chaos reigns.
An obvious and ongoing problem is the lack of discipline on the leadership, and all of the members. Arrow is a great guy, however his desire to keep this unit “like a family” has diminished his authority to the point of absence. Like an absentee father, Arrow is physically there, but because of his desire to do “only” the right thing or “nothing at all” creates a vacuum of leadership. This is either resolved when someone jumps in (as is what happened with Cheese Fez before he got frustrated after Arrow reasserted his authority and over ruled many of his actions) or when total chaos overwhelms the unit and something has to happen or the whole thing will fall apart. Only then does something happen and usually it falls short of resolution so there is still remaining underlying tension.
As to the current incident that has driven me to write this post, I feel this must be predicated by some history: My first interaction with RGMU members and the then RGMU member Pixie, was when She and I were waiting on TS2 for any other RGMU members to show for some planned TBR training. Sleep and another of his cadre showed up on com’s together and the first words out of their mouth was “Oh look, there’s the Bitch!”, followed by Sleeps response of “yeah, she f#*king sucks”. As one could expect the conversation went down hill from there. So I think it would be obvious that when these two, and others all made inappropriate commentary about Pixie on open com’s and or servers it has been and continues to be reacted to negatively by her many friends.
These same members have been calling for me to be kicked out for having the audacity to continue any form of relationship, in or out of MW4 with her. They continued to bad mouth me, my integrity, commitment and honesty, as well as my absence’s from RGMU activities over the past 5 months. First all I have to say about commitment and integrity is that over the past 5 months I’ve spent approximately 35 to 40 days total in my own bed, otherwise I’ve been sleeping on the road, in my Tank, in a tent or in the back of my vehicle. Yet I have still managed to make 7 to 9 drops, approximately 25% of the available drops, (based on ComStar Transaction/ Payrole record) and attended our weekly meeting at least a similar number of times. As for my honesty & integrity, well as soon as these specific malcontents have a real understanding of the words then I would enjoy addressing to them the fine detail of the words.
So When Sleep, Gryph and Eccentric all joined “The Way of the Bawk” server and started their typical color commentary I ordered them to stop and follow the CoC. They failed to follow that simple order and questioned my authority and commitment to RGMU and continued their comments about Pixie. A flagrant disregard to the RGMU standards, failure to follow orders, and then worst of all they did so on another teams open server. This displays complete disregard for that unit and their members and a lack of understanding of the words honor and integrity.
I had passed on to Arrow that for this inappropriate conduct, I required a public apology to Pixie, the Chikens as a whole and some form of public “Slap on the wrist” by our leadership to those involved. Five days after the RGMU leadership was informed of my desired resolution I made a post that signified that action needed to happen by noon on Friday. This gave sixty hours to act, yet all that has happened is an interested 3rd party who also reported the incident to Arrow was given an explanation for the “bad Blood” as to why it happened & an apology for where the act took place. Nothing to the unit or to the player verbally attacked and still no corrective action against those who perpetrated the act.
A quote from the RGMU Officers Manual
“All Officers must remember, that they are ambassadors of RGMU at all times, and they have a responsibility to show "unity" to the Enlisted and non-members.
Any disputes between Officers is to be conducted in Private. In public the higher ranking Officer is always right.”
Simple words, but the lack of adherence to this has caused a lot of members to become disenfranchised and fade into obscurity.
So my final action as an Officer in RGMU, and as the ranking RGMU Officer in the server at the time of the incident, is to formally apologize to the Chiken Confederation and my most humble apology to Pixie for the poor conduct of the RGMU members. As for formal punishment against those members in question: I ask the Chiken Confederation to ban SleepWarz, Gryphan, and Eccentric from your server for a period of no less then 6 months. I ask that the MWL leadership also enforce this ban and restrict these players from participating in League drops against the Chiken Confederation. I take this action unilaterally as the senior ranking Officer from RGMU involved. However, my leadership’s lack of action otherwise forces me to submit my resignation from RGMU effective immediately.
