OK, I was trying out some new software, namely eDonkey, and after I tried it out and decided that I didn't like it I uninstalled it.
Now HW2 will not work!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :computer:

This is what is happening....I click the short cut...hourglass...nothing.

I click the direct .exe ....hourglasss....nothing...

No screen blink...just hourglass...then....nothing.... :computer:

After uninstalling everything that came with the eDonkey program...reinstalling HW2, (Now I lose all of the custom badges that I had) still...click the program start....hourglass....nothing...

:computer:

Can anybody help me? I went all weekend without HW2 cuz I work, and now I can't play..... :computer:

FAWK!!!!

Those programs can leave virus/trojan/worm/spyware and all sorts of nasty stuff on your machine, Guer. If i were you I would run a program like adaware and see if that detects any thing malicious.

Secondly... If that does not work I would go with things like reinstalling Direct x 9b and the divx 5.05 codec.

Clucker also had a similair problem and cured it by adding the ace codec and Nimo also.

hope that helps

I like Spybot...it's free and they update regularly.

Download it at: http://www.safer-networking.org/

I've had some problems that the spyware detectors didn't detect, the virus scanners didn't scan and the firewall didn't stop. Basically I just went through my system registry, every last entry (took about 8 hours) and researched anything questionable.

For a while I was having a problem with playing MW in a slideshow, I spent 2 days cleaning up my registry and even changing a bunch of settings and when I got rid of my computer I was getting FPS rates that just weren't possible with the processor I had. In fact they are near the rates that I get on my new computer.

No luck with trying to detect it. I needed to do a cleaning of my computer anyway so I just reinstalled XP..

Oh well, thanx for the info guys I appreciate it.
