EwwWWW,
That once could get me to hang up my Mechy joystick once ni a while.
graphics looks good, for not even a demo of it yet, so i guess we have a long time waiting, could this game be the game to put GW stuff on the gaming map?

Supposed to be out by the end of the year. I think earlier actually.

My brother used to collect the plastic figures for warhammer. Probably still has a heap of them somewhere.
Games workshop has some wonderfully tallented artists. the board games they had and the trademark sort of comic-book'ish people.
Kind of a strange game. The technology mix with the antiquated weapons and armor. Still, I bet it'll beat the pants off UO and Neverquest.

I thought they were metal figs. If they are and he really had piles of 'em they might actually be worth quite a decent sum of cash. That stuff's expensive and is one of the reasons I never got into the tabletop game.
I like how the graphic style mimics that miniature look. It's a good lookin' game.
bawk they r metal and plastic, plastic r cheap and metal r round 5euro depending on who big and what the figure is!

The graphics indeed mimic the tradition GW art. It will certanily be worth looking into.
As for my Bro's collection. I think he has 3 shoe boxes jammed full of them things. HE never took great care of them, but I doubt many are broken. I am sure he still has them somewhere. I could call my mom and see if they're still at home or if he took them.

Lol. Sell your brother's stuff! Score some cash!
Also, Valkyrie, you might be better of comparing DoW to games like Age of Empires or Command & Conquer as it is a real time strategy game. No roleplaying elements whatsoever to my knowledge.

As a kid i was a hugh warhammer fan played 40k all the time, i was primarily a space marine man, with my terminators as the kicker, they kick ass i so hope they will be in there too, mind i hope the eldar are not as unbalanced as they where in the role playing game i have played in games where one sqaud has wiped out and entire battlefield, with two armies on it, with thier freakin webbers. Mind a sqaud of terminators with lighting claws, and storm bolters can cope just about. Oh this is going to be such a good game if it lives up to the hype. My only reservation is, have you seen the min requirements they have posted for the game they are very very low, and i can see no way they could possibly run a game with the kind of graphics i have seen in the screen shots, though i live in hope.

I hate to put this down and Im not trying to but.....
Remember the trailer for homeworld 2? It was nothing like the final version. Having said that they have more time on there hands with this and hopefully the trailer will be the game istelf aka not an engine demo for hw2.
ekkk snake you always find something dont you!
anyways from what i hear they used THQ's graphics engine for this so that might nock out a few bugs, also i dont think there will be unit transfer as hopefully relic learned from its mistakes and just got rid of that whole concept!

This game was built on an evolution of the graphics engine for Impossible creatures and was allready in production at the time HW2 was, so it has quite a lot of work in it allready.
What you see will pretty much be what you get. One to look out for.

Exelent. lets hope so as at present it looks amazing.
yeah IC from Relic was had good graphics just lacked gameplay and storyline, if they get GW guys to make a storyline then GW characters will fill the game play and Close Combat looks awesome!

Word from previews is that it's pretty close to finished as is. I think they'll have a lot more time to work on the polish of this one. Particularly since they didn't have to abandon the game in the middle of its development cycle and completely redo it. We could ask Mecha, but I suspect he's a leetle bit busy right now.

I have a Skaven army, Dark Angel raven wing and necromunda clan and gothic fleet.
My brother (30) has all choas armies and blod angels and imperials, and several warhammer armies. He was second during the tournement in Eindhoven few years back where he won on painting and strategie.
I only like necromunda and quest nowwa day.
