I know with tanks and ships you have to arc your shots to hit a target

Is the same for rifles, and is their a range limit for rifles, and if there is range what would it be ?

Generally speaking, it's line of sight for the small arms. RPG's are an exception.

The sniper rifle does take some aiming skill for really long range shots but there's still no arc to speak of when shooting. The .50cal is really nice for long range one shot kills.

You must be doing something wrong then, I always get one shot kills with the .50cal. Docks, Lost Village, El Alemin, you name the map and it's a one shot kill. Maybe you are referring to the .50cal MG and not the sniper rifle....
