Whilst we haven't quite finished tweaking everything yet, the ladder has been opened for player sign ups from today.
We have disabled the challenge system for the moment, as too many players are unable to host games until a patch arrives. Feel welcome to try out some freeplay games from IRC (http://homeworldladder.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=75) and GameSPY (http://homeworldladder.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=83) in the meantime.
We would appreciate some feedback and/or suggestions regarding the ladder, so please head over to our forums (http://forums.homeworldladder.com) during testing stages and post away. Please note that ladder player accounts and forum accounts are two separate registrations.
We are still doing a number of updates to various sections, particularly in the FAQ/Help and rules department. Please be sure to look over both of these sections before you begin playing, and ask any questions on the forums or in IRC.
