Anybody been playing this?
Well i vought it last friday and after spending all weekend on it I thought i would tell you guys what i think of it.
first off it isnt by the same team who did ffx but by the team who did Final fantasy tactics.
The graphics have not been inproved at all in fact i actually think in places they are worse! Though maybe it is just my memory of ffx.
The game is a girls game imho. The 3 main charactors are all gals while I didnt mind that to much all the gal high fives and isnt he cute shit started to anoy me a tad.
Now my major gripes. The game is on a misson basis (which I thought would be good!) thing is with this it takes certain events in a certain order sometimes to unlock items. That i wouldnt mind if it actually gave clues about some of them. IE when you fight Behomoth you have to stand around for 5 mins till you hear a whistle and then press x to unlock part of an alternative ending. I say part as thers somewhere else in game where u have to do the same thing but I havent worked out where yet.
By the way theres no cool cgi in this like ffx. except for the airship after each mission.
Loading times are very bad for some reason. When you play it you will see what I mean.
The class system isnt to bad but you can level up in no time at all as I had all of my charactors maxed out on each dress spere that I found. thus making me play some really anoying side quests just to get new speres.
ohh nearly forgot the side quests are good/bad. Some are exelent like the cactor side quest while some are just plan daft like the Configuring the towers on thunder plans.
Last gripe is the voice acting. On ffx if you tryed to chat with anyone you would get speech for everything and they even lip synced them. Not this time! While this game is far shorter than ffx and has more or less the same if not less charctors only certain main events have speech. Ohh and the voice acting of payne is so bad you will truly wana punch the screen to make it stop.

The story is top notch and you will play it again after you complete it to see all 4 endings. (so far I have seen 2)
As allways you play FF for the story telling of the game and this game has an exelent story! Not what I was exspecting but good non the less.
the active battle system is a nice move and one ff should stay with.
The graphics in certain aeras is still good but then again its the same graphics from ffx! (thats a good thing)
New creatures int his game and some very cleaver ones ( theres a creature that basically learns all of the moves you use against it from chaptor 3 onwards and when you fight it in chaptor 5 whatever u used with it is now deactivated) I wont tell you what it is as I didnt know when I fought it and had to beat a boss with nothing but items.
If you liked ff8 youl like this as it uses a very similar system for learning new attacks( ie you learn them via ap points from battles and have to chose what you want each charactor to learn)

Overall Id give it 8 out of 10.
Yeah its good but should have been much better. I personally wouldnt buy it if you havent played ffx. In fact play ffx and them rent this and see if you fancy more of the same as in reality thats what your getting as all the graphics bar the new charctors are in ffx ie all the backgrounds bar a few new locations.
By the way the next ff game is being done by the same team who did ff9 so I will wait for a review before buying that one. The team who did ffx and also did ff6 and 7 are doing the next ff after 12.
