Now that MW burnout is reaching the ash-encrusted stage of a BBQ coal thats been burning for 4 hours?

Damn it used to be a fun game. Boy did we have fun as BIR. Did I mention it was all Dyseds fault? (Ok the last part was just to get a few extra eggs laid for my breakfast).

Great game, had some good times, but after 3 returns to it, even with the MEkTek patch, I hven't been back in over 2 months. It occupies a spot on my desktop, but is never used.

I wonder what will get us all together again someday?

Bawk! Festus,

True the game isnt what it was, Mercs saw to that :( .

But many of us still hang on in there, and for me its still to powerful a drug to kick.

Its till my #1 game for all its sins :)

BAWK Festus, I have returned to it though it took a few attempts to tear me away from my Dark Age of Camelot addiction.

If you are in to rpgs you might try out NeverWinter Nights, there are a few chiks in the MERP module ( see other parts of this forum ). BF1942 and AA occupy a few other chikens as well as Homeworld 2.

I guess we are all waiting for the next mechy type game cos, lets face it, marching around in 12 metre tall metal bodies is pretty cool :)

p.s. looks like I may have to get my other 2 wisdom teeth out so look forwad to some more panicky messages from me seeking advice :)

Bawk!

I know these blues Festus, I to have been there. But everytime, as my interest in another game decreases, MW4 suddenly fills the gap satisfactory. And it is not just the game, it is the people who we play it with as well that makes it fun.

And I think there are still some intersting twists that can be made in the leagues. We already have TBR and Brawler leagues, which are more fun then the usual TeamDestruction and TeamBattle formula's. I would love a FFP and no JJ's game with allows no light mechs. Brings it more to a managable' simulation then most people play the game today. Don't know if people are willing to make such a leap yet tho!

Anyway, nice of you to drop by....and yes...Dysed is preparing some extra eggs :).

LOL...dysed..your eggs wouldn't get past the egg licensing board.

I'm doing the odd bit of HW2 (mostly smurfing with my fellow OMO), lots of BF1942 and Desert Combat mod.

Recently found a great server with reasonable rules and good Admins, the Over the Hill server 3ghz. Anyone playing there should check it out.

Oh yeah..currently Beta Testing Ground Control 2 as well.

I haven't been playing Mercz for even a year yet. Before I moved in here my computer wouldn't handle it. I came to Mercz AFTER the PR-1, so I never saw what that waz like.

We all blame Mercz for ruining the game. I'm not so sure that Mercz ruined it az much az the people did. The people were more fun on Vengeance, which I played for 3 yearz, even when everyone left for BK and Mercz.

Now we're all so caught up in the politicz that we can't see that the people we've been holding grudgez against for 2 yearz are actually okay. With all the animosity we feel towardz the people we have had spatz with in the past, it'z no wonder that the game haz lost the luster and appeal that it once had.

It'z not just my animosity that haz ruined the game for me, but the animosity of the other people who play the game who dislike other people.

I still have great fun when it'z the right mix of people joking around and playing the way we did when we were playing vengeance. I miss that. I miss the time before anyone who waz doing well undoubtedly waz sniffing portz or shaping packetz, before everyone had aimbot and a trainer.

If we all let it go, and all the other people let it go, and played with one another, no matter our affiliation, the game might not seem so old. However, it'z my fear that the road we've travelled down haz no more branchez.

Too obscure, Loogie.

Remember, Grace is a burnt out pothead who is blessed (cursed) with naturally blonde hair. You have to explain things like you would to a 3 year old and try not to make distracting hand movements while you're doing it.

grace my natural lil blonde bombcrater, i have to disagree

Mercs fawked up the MW series when they tried to go for the quick kill instead of staying with what was working. Altering mercs to suit the teenage US market fawked the game up, simple as that. Microsux made an error (not really a surprise)
