View Full Version : Who do you want for president?

With the upcoming US president elections, i thought it good to see who YOU would want to be the next president of the USA.
And since the next US president will likely put a stamp on all our lives, not only the US citizens, please also vote when you dont live in the USA.

Jed Bartlett for The White House. woowoo!!

Seriously, I would vote for Bush. As he is an anti abortionist, he automatically would get my vote.

Please note this is a personal opinion. If you want to start an attack on the abortion issue, do it in another thread.

well i think bugs is a smart, funny and very witty character and although not been real, i still think he'd be a step up for the current "white house boss"

Well, being 2-dimensional, Bugs certainly offers a lot more depth than any of the usual contenders.

Angel, I'm not arguing the abortion issue with you. I'm pro life as well.

The president doesn't have a whole lot of say concerning abortion. That's a Supreme Court issue, which makes it more of a Congressional issue. Though the president appoints supreme court justices, congress has to approve their appointment. If our congress is pro life then they won't approve pro choice justices. The opposite is also true. Eventually the president would have to bend to the will of the congress, making theirs the position of power concerning abortion.

On the matters that do directly concern the president, I feel there are better choices than President Bush.

I don't think Bugs would win in an open election, b/c of the whole cross dressing thing. He would definately win California though, and Canada as well...

Hey I had Labatt Blue one time....talk about crap...it was like a slighty better than normal Bud Light...but that likes saying. "Wow this cow piss doesn't taste as bad as normal."

Your all loonies, americans can not be trusted to vote for an intelegant person to run your country, ably demonstrated by the... i suppose you might call him a man, George Bush, or as i prefer, Two Short Planks. It also occurs to me slightly hippocritical that you bash other contries for not having free and fair elections when you dont have them at home :) it seems that despite Al gore getting more votes he lost

Land of the free....yeah right, lets say there are many with an entierly different few of what is going on and believe me, even die hard BusH lovers won't like it when they realise.

In the end democracy is a failed concept anyway. In this time and age I would be more worried about the basis on what we make choices (information/personal gain above all else) and who will decide for us what we should vote. People are so easy to influence and manipulate by those who have the resources and/or positions that there is no true free mind anymore, let alone democracy as percieved. Simply by spoon feeding you selective (or fabricated) information and changing rules you ought to obey will make 'their' goal your personal financial goal as well. They can let you do anything they want to and you will do it out of 'FREE' will as you see it as your own interest.

Democracy was never perfect to start with and probably never will be either. Current mass media and new technologies makes it an outdated and very dangerous concept, just as explosive as religions are. What you got overseas is more like an information and cash driven dictatorship then anything else....be proud of it while you can...as it can and at some point in time will destroy you and the freedom you so cherrish!

The signs are there, it is just waiting for the big bang which I expect within give or take two decades.

Please don't jump of a cliff because of my imput, as I will not have that on my concience. And for those that expect me to be some renegade 'left' winger.....well think again as I am pretty far on the right side of the spectrum and very materialistic. I am just used to try to take in my decissions a greater good that is directly my own.

Food for thought, I did my say and you can disagree all you want as that is your right. But I am not gona turn this in to another zillionth endless political thread by replying.

As for your next leader: Buggs bunny would be the most sane choice IMHO.

I still have a modicum of faith in people's ability to eventually see through the lies. Seems like the majority of the moderate types I talk to feel like they've been hoodwinked something fierce and they are not happy about it. I dunno. I guess I've made my feelings on the matter pretty clear. It's just all so freakin' insane to me. If Bush gets reelected I AM moving to Canada. Actually I think I'll move to the Netherlands. Pretty ladies over there and all the men are gay.

I think ( though i live in the UK) that America unfortunatly for its self, may of made its own bed now. Money talks, and always has done, Bush was never about anything eles but money as far as i could see all the way from Europe, did his 8 trillions of dollars of tax cuts actually happen? No (at least to the best of my knowlage hes never got anywhere near that total he promised), just like his father hes a man that can not be trusted for he has no mind of his own he is owned, and is part of the energy consortiums that drove his campign to victory (through making him the best fund raiser in american history, mind it can not of been his personality, personally i would say it because he is so easily controlled, and such a yes man for them) i mean Dick was the president of Haliburton Oil(the bush family buisness), the links between Little George and the energy companies go on and on, just check out Stupid White men by Micheal Moore(i know many Americans hold this man in distain but he makes many good points and he deals in facts) When these multi nationals basically choose the man in charge how can the average person trust that man, as he is an agent of the people that want to take the money out of your pockets, I vote bugs bunny.

On a side note did anyone here actually vote arnie in the cali elections? any of you from cali? Just want to know what made them vote for a man with few ideas, in the state that needs a financial miricale. I mean come on hes a right wing nazi can you not see it. LoL i wounder if he knows what a Nazi is?

Yes. I too hate Michael Moore. No liberal does more damage to the liberal cause than that self-righteous prick. All he does is polarize conservative minded moderates by preaching to the choir in the same way that Rush Limbaugh used to alienate moderates leaning more to the other side. I used to think he was entertaining when I was younger, but now I really hate the guy.

The fact that Bush' approval ratings remain around 50%ish really blows my mind. Even with conservative columnists and papers putting a negative spin on the guy, he's still holding strong enough to be a serious contender for reelection.

Rule by fear Pherd....financial, about percieved priveliges or otherwise. And if there is no sensible reason, make one up and shout it over the TV chanels, then do some promises you can never keep, and where the people do not see the future price tag on it. This principle worked everywhere in the world and is practiced by most dictatorships. Realy if there would ever be true free election in for example North Korea....they would vote for the sitting man! Just like about everywhere else!

Hope that explains it well.

Well thats the Italians for you, stupid enough to gas their own troops because the wind was blowing the wrong way. Though Ummon makes the point quite well with that kind of statement. Bush and Ummon are obviously on the same intillectual plain of existance somewhere slightly above single cell organisms, though not much. Agenda Agenda Agenda if you know what i mean

It seems to me that a sweeping statement about all Italians, puts u into the same intellectual catagory as Ummon, and dare i say it Bush!
